I'm gonna be honest, I was Initially embarrassed and a little ashamed that I was asking myself if I ACTUALLY wanted kids. All the women I knew who didn’t have kids, either couldn’t have kids or were single. But here I was, in a very stable relationship, with the man of my dreams, financially secure, healthy, and yet I wasn’t sure if I actually wanted them any more. I mean what did that say about me as a woman? What did that say about me as a wife? I had told Tom I wanted children when we got married. And what was I going to tell people? I mean… my greek culture?…oh…. the judgment! The comments. The constant questions. Even when i told people we had decided not to have children… even THEN I STILL got asked… when are you having kids?

Even strangers would ask if I had kids. And when I’d reply “no”… the response would be one of pity! They’d just assume I couldn’t have any! Now what? Do I tell them I chose not to? Well if I did, I knew exactly what would come next. Take your pick!…. Any one of these!!! So, I decided.... I didn’t need to explain my choices to anyone!!! If you want to be then homie… you do you!! 🙌
