For the last few weeks, I've been doing my annual ritual: reviewing what worked, what didn't, and choosing a single word to anchor my new year.⁠

This year's word found me through a Substack post, and the second I read it, I knew.⁠
⁠
GLIMMER.⁠
⁠
A glimmer is the tiny moment of calm, joy, or peace that regulates your nervous system. The village church catching the light. The client email that made you smile. The coffee with a lovely heart in it.⁠

We're taught to work towards joy. To earn it after the launch, the goal, the "when things calm down."⁠
⁠
But joy doesn't wait for the tidy ending. It's here now, in the middle of the mess, if we train ourselves to notice it.⁠

I have a 10-minute framework I use every year to find my word, and I want to share it with you.⁠

For the last few weeks, I've been doing my annual ritual: reviewing what worked, what didn't, and choosing a single word to anchor my new year.

This year's word found me through a Substack post, and the second I read it, I knew.

GLIMMER.

A glimmer is the tiny moment of calm, joy, or peace that regulates your nervous system. The village church catching the light. The client email that made you smile. The coffee with a lovely heart in it.

We're taught to work towards joy. To earn it after the launch, the goal, the "when things calm down."

But joy doesn't wait for the tidy ending. It's here now, in the middle of the mess, if we train ourselves to notice it.

I have a 10-minute framework I use every year to find my word, and I want to share it with you.

✧ Enjoyed our 11th annual Christmas present blitz with ⁠

✧ Created my first AI robot to help solopreneurs create great social media captions ⁠

✧ Enjoyed a quiet, low-key Christmas with my fam.⁠

When I feel stuck, I don't force it. Instead, I take a break to get the juices flowing...⁠

A walk with Benny. ⁠
Yoga on my mat. ⁠
An oat latte and people-watching. ⁠
Daily creating—even if it's just collaging flowers for 10 minutes. ⁠
Journaling to clear the mental noise.⁠
⁠
These aren't distractions from the work. They ARE the work.⁠
⁠
Because the best ideas don't come from working harder. They come from giving yourself permission to move differently.⁠

Your affirmations aren't broken. Your delivery system is.

We say the I AMs.
We light the candles.
We journal with intention.

But if what you're calling in still isn't showing up… your subconscious might be missing one critical piece of code.

Here's the thing: Manifestation works like programming. And every good program needs 3 parts:

1️⃣ The declaration (I AM...)
2️⃣ The request (what you want)
3️⃣ The closure (WHEN you're receiving it)

Most of us skip #3.
No timeframe = no delivery.

So instead of:
"I am attracting aligned opportunities"

Try:
"I am attracting aligned opportunities and they are arriving NOW."

The Universe doesn't respond to incomplete requests.
It responds to energetic certainty. That means a timeframe.

✧ My yoga practice with ⁠ was a little less this month, as I was ill for a week & reseted instead⁠
⁠
✧ Attended my friend 's tapping session at an online wellbeing event.⁠
⁠
✧ released her Life of a Showgirl album and the internet was ablaze!⁠
⁠
✧ Created some lovely colour palettes, inspired by early prints ⁠
⁠
✧ Grew my Substack by 408% - I now have 64 subscribers! ⁠
⁠

☕️ You can't pour from an empty cup.

I used to wake up, grab my phone, and immediately start reacting. Emails. DMs. Everyone else's urgency before my own needs.

Then I wondered why I felt burnt out as a solopreneur by 10am.

These 5 morning non-negotiables changed everything. They're not about being perfect or waking up at 5am. They're about choosing yourself first—even if just for 20 minutes.

Some days I do all five. Some days life happens and I give myself grace. But on the days I protect my morning? I show up calmer, clearer, and more grounded in my business.

Save this for the mornings you need a reset.
