Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. It is based on the idea that the practitioner can channel universal life force energy (known as "ki" or "chi") into the patient's body to promote healing and relaxation. Reiki is typically practiced through a series of hand positions, where the practitioner places their hands on or near the patient's body to direct the flow of energy.
