“It’s super-easy for people to apply: all you need to do is scan the QR code, fill in the online form, choose Slimming World, then follow the instructions. Alternatively you can telephone to chat with one of Connected Kingston’s advisors or send an email”

CRITERIA:
Age 16+
BMI 28 ( or 25+ with a weight-related comorbidity/or 23+ from a Black African, African-Caribbean, South Asian or Chinese ethnic group
Must live, work, study or be registered with a GP in Kingston upon Thames
Can’t have been a Slimming World member within the last 6 months

Seven Days to Go

That piece of cake I saved is near
one big slice, I have no fear,
besides no pounds will even show,
'cause I've got 7 days to go

A day of shopping, to town we go
for a burger special, it's cheaper you know
I'll walk it off, I have no fear,
6 days to go, no weigh-in near

I think I'll skip my lunch,
a Hot dog is what I'll munch,
tuna's getting expensive you know,
besides I've got 5 days to go

For breakfast, one egg, toast and juice,
kids left their pancakes, oh what's the use,
with inflation, to waste is a sin.
Besides it's 4 days till I weigh-in

For breakfast I'll just have coffee today,
maybe I'll lose more that way
For supper a little extra I'll eat,
3 days before those scales I meet

Boy this weekend is really rough,
restaurant menus are getting tough
I'll work these fries off, have no fear,
in just 2 days it'll be clear

Now my nerves are really a wreck,
I might as well eat, oh what the heck
I'll take two laxatives late tonight,
1 day to go, it'll be alright

I can't afford to eat, no way.
Six trips to the loo might save my day

7 Myths about losing weight with Slimming World 👇

Surprising as it may sound but guess most people have probably heard of Slimming World – many may even have tried it before, or tried to do it from home. What I know for a fact is that there are plenty of myths going around about how it works, and what you’ll need to do to get the amazing weight losses that you’ll often see on social media and in the press.

1. I’ll have to give up my favourite foods

2. I won’t be able to go out and eat/drink

3. It’s harder for me to lose weight as I’m older

4. It costs too much

5. It takes too much time to make healthy food

6. I’ll only put the weight back on once I stop following it.

7. I’ll be constantly hungry

The word “myths” is key here – Slimming World is sensible, healthy eating that can be maintained for life. 🍎🍎🍎 Apple Puffs 🍎🍎🍎

Serves: 4, Prep time: 10 Minutes, Cook time: 15
Ready in: Less than 30 Minutes
Suitable for vegetarians
Syns per serving: 6½

These fruity bites are a breeze to make and oh-so glam

Ingredients
100g ready-made light puff pastry
4 level tbsp ready-made low-fat custard
1 red dessert apple, cored and thinly sliced
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 level tbsp reduced-sugar apricot jam
1 level tsp icing sugar, to dust
Fat-free natural fromage frais, to serve

Method
Preheat your oven to 220°C/fan 200°C/gas 7. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Divide the pastry into 4 portions, then roll each into an 8 x 10cm rectangle.

Put the rectangles, widely spaced, on the baking tray and using a sharp knife, score a border about 5mm in from the edge of each.

Spread the custard over the pastry and arrange the apple slices on top.

Sprinkle over the cinnamon and ginger and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the sides of the pastries have puffed up and are slightly golden.

Put the jam in a small pan and stir over a low heat for 2-3 minutes until melted. Lightly brush each pastry with the melted jam then serve warm, dusted with icing sugar and with a dollop of fromage frais.

Tip: For a rhubarb puff, cut 150g rhubarb into 6cm lengths and put in a pan with a little water and 2 tbsp. sweetener. Poach for 3-4 minutes, then use in place of the apple in step 1. Save 1/2 Syn per serving

Day's like today are when I'm so proud to be a consultant. Weight losses were phenomenal and this lovely lady got her six stone award. So Julie joined last November to lose weight for health and to help donate stem cells for her brother. I was so in awe of her commitment that it spurred me on too. We've both lost six stone, both of us are so much healthier and her brother is cancer free. Very emotional morning and personally I think we both look darn good 😊
Each and every Friday and Saturday my members blow me away with their commitments to weight loss. I'm truly blessed and with so much respect to all of them.
