🌲 Join us on the 2025 edition of the KCLWMS expedition to the mountains of North Albania! We will be hosting a multi-day hiking and camping trip between 9th-16th July. After the success of last year, we are excited to announce our Women in Wilderness Medicine Workshop. Join us via Microsoft teams for an afternoon of exploration as our speakers share their experiences as wilderness medics! Our key speaker will be Dr Mayhew, who is a military medical historian focusing on severe casualty, its infliction, treatment and long-term outcomes in 20th and 21st century warfare.

Our Story

KCL Wilderness Medicine Society is about medicine and research in places where others won’t go. Focussing on pre-hospital care of casualties in the wilderness, we explore problems created by working in environments ranging from disaster zones and humanitarian crises to high altitude, space and polar regions.

​Voted KCLSU's Best New Society in our first year, KCLWMS has grown into one of the university's most exciting student groups.We welcome all King's students - not just medical students - and run a range of exciting trips, talks and expeditions throughout the year.
