What a fantastic Dementia Action Week we had across our Barchester homes and hospitals last week! 💙

Our staff, residents and their families all came together to support the Alzheimer's Society campaign, enjoying an array of wonderful activities from gardening, baking, reminiscing over cherished memories, dancing at our dementia discos, and soaking up the sunshine at garden parties.

Every smile, conversion, and memory shared helped raise awareness and celebrate the importance of supporting those living with dementia.

Barchester’s Annual Charity Cook Off returned for its third year, bringing together our Managing Directors and Senior Management team in a battle to claim the title of Cook Off Champions! 🏆

Most importantly, this fantastic event was all in aid of raising funds for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, which supports older people and other adults living with a disability or mental health condition.

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from everyone involved, we have so far raised £53,000 with donations still coming in!

Mental Health Awareness Week! 🧠

During Mental Health Awareness Week, our staff and residents have been participating in a range of activities aimed at enhancing their wellbeing.

These activities included relaxing garden walks, visits by the most adorable therapy dog and a simple but important question: “What makes you happy?”

It’s important to prioritise mental health, asking for help when needed and offering support to those around us. For our employees, we have our Employee Assistance Programme that provides access to a range of wellbeing services whenever they need it.

Alison joined Barchester in 2016 as the Head of Internal Audit. She then progressed to the role of Director of Finance, before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer last year.
