Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia.
This condition affects mainly post menopausal women. Quite simply the hair line recedes taking all hair with it. The follicles will most certainly be inflamed and probably itchy albeit not always.
Often mistaken by some as traction alopecia. If you are noticing hair loss at the frontal hair line then you must seek professional advice from your GP or a trichologist.
Treatment may be topical or internal depending on who is conducting the treatment. You must get this treated at the earliest opportunity as this is a scarring alopecia. The type is that of lichen planus planopilaris which destroys the hair follicles and they will not grow back.
Be warned a hair Transplant may help. But a biopsy must be obtained first to establish if there is any activity still present. I would also add that the risk of graft failure is higher in such cases.
Please feel free to give us a ring if you are suffering from such hair loss.
