A Warm Charrington Manor Care Home Welcome for Woking MP 💙

We were delighted to welcome Woking MP Will Forster to Charrington Manor in West Byfleet, where he joined residents for an afternoon of fun and conversation as part of our vibrant care home community.

Mr Forster received a VIP tour of our luxury facilities from Home Manager Simona Varga-Pali, before meeting residents who proudly shared just how active and fulfilling life is at Charrington Manor — all without needing to leave the comfort of their beautiful home.

🌸 Hamberley Weekly Round-Up 🌸

It’s been another joyful week across our Hamberley Care Homes, filled with creativity, celebrations, and special moments 💖

🌼 Alston House residents enjoyed a relaxing and mindful flower arranging session – a lovely way to brighten the day.

🌻Hindhead Place also got creative with flower arranging, filling the home with colour and calm.

🪴 Cofton Park Manor residents took a lovely trip to Bromsgrove Garden Centre – a perfect outing for nature lovers!

🌷 Lovell Place hosted a blooming beautiful event with April’s Flower Patch, where guests made floral keepsakes with pressed flowers and poetry – full of laughter and creativity.

🎉 Meryton Place celebrated an incredible milestone as lovely resident Peggy turned 101 surrounded by her family – happy birthday, Peggy! 🎂

🏍️ Newton House residents enjoyed a fantastic outing to the Transport Museum — and what a trip down memory lane it was!

🏖️ Templeton Place brought the beach to them with a colourful seaside-themed party – mocktails, music and sunshine vibes all around.

🧶💛 A Heartfelt Gesture from Our Knit & Natter Clubs 💛🧶

We’re so proud of the wonderful residents at Elstow Manor Care Home and Richmond Manor Care Home, whose talented hands and warm hearts have been busy knitting blankets, tiny hats, and bonnets for babies in the Neo Natal Units at Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

At 92, Richmond Manor resident Barbara Fairey summed it up beautifully:

“We’re a very sociable group and we enjoy creating things, so when we heard that we could make a difference to the babies in hospital, we jumped at the opportunity.”

Today we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating the wonderful Irma’s birthday here at Brookwater House! 💐🎂

The day was made extra special with fantastic live music from the amazing Camilo, creating the perfect atmosphere for singing, dancing, and lots of smiles. 🎶💃🕺

Of course, there was no shortage of yummy cake, tasty snacks, and warm laughter shared among friends and staff. 🧁🍓☕️

🎩🐎 Brookwater Ascot Party – With a Twist! 🐎🎩

What a fabulous and funny Friday we had at our very own Brookwater Ascot Party!

From stylish hats and beautiful outfits to our not-so-real horses (yes – horse heads on sticks! 😄), the energy was unbeatable!
Our staff and relatives took on the roles of jockeys and gave us some truly unforgettable “races” 🏇🎉

Some of our wonderful residents joined as judges, awarding points and cheering on their favourites. There were winners, prizes, dancing, and of course – plenty of laughter!

🍰 The party food was amazing, and the atmosphere was just perfect – full of fun, smiles, and lovely memories.

Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day! 💛

This Week Across Our Homes... 🌞🎉

It’s been a joyful week full of sunshine, celebrations, and community spirit!

💜 Nesbit House visited the lavender fields at Castle Farm, enjoyed frozen treats, and met a very cute puppy!

🍦 Lovell Place spent a sunny morning at Clevedon Seafront, complete with ice cream on the promenade.

🌹 Alston House residents proudly cheered on the in the final of the Euros during their nail-biting penalty shootout win over Spain!

🌼 Brookwater House enjoyed a peaceful nature walk in the park, soaking up summer blooms and fresh air.

🎉 Caddington Grove held a special afternoon celebration to mark the Lionesses' victory.

🧀 Cambridge Grove hosted their always-popular monthly Cheese & Wine Social – a relaxing treat for all!

☕ Elstow Manor residents enjoyed riverside views and a cosy café stop during their Bedford Embankment outing.

🌄 Hindhead Place took in the breathtaking views at the local beauty spot, The Punchbowl.

🌊 Meryton Place threw a fantastic Summer Beach Party with donkeys, BBQ, music, games, and brilliant community support for their chosen charity.

☕ Templeton Place enjoyed a relaxed outing to Costa Coffee to make the most of the sunshine.

🏅 Upton Manor went all out for Sports Day – from egg and spoon races to tug of war, it was non-stop fun and laughter!

What a fantastic time we had today with Jackie leading our Chair Zumba session at Brookwater! Her energy lit up the room and had everyone moving, smiling, and enjoying every beat—right from their chairs! 🎶

It was more than just exercise—it was laughter, connection, and pure happiness all around. Thank you, Jackie, for bringing so much joy to our home! 💛

💙 Happy International Day of Friendship! 💙

At Hamberley Care Homes, we see every day how meaningful friendships enrich the lives of our residents — and there’s no better example than Margaret and Lillian at Newton House Care Home, who’ve found a beautiful bond in their late 90s.

Both attended Shawlands Academy, both became secretaries, and both share a love of bowling and the Church of Scotland Guild — yet they only became inseparable after meeting at Newton House. Their story reminds us all that it’s never too late to find your best friend 🫶

Our wonderful Homemakers and wellbeing teams help nurture these connections across all our homes, creating a warm, welcoming environment where friendships can truly flourish.

🎶 A Joyful Musical Time at Brookwater House! 🎶

We had a fantastic session with Janina from Connect Music Therapy today! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to sing, play instruments, and immerse themselves in the joy of music.

There were smiles all around as everyone joined in—clapping, tapping, and singing along to familiar tunes. Music is such a powerful way to connect, uplift, and create meaningful moments together.

We enjoyed a peaceful walk to the park, taking in the beauty of the flowers and surrounding nature. It was a refreshing and joyful outing — full of smiles, fresh air, and good company. 💐☀

🐾 Special Visit from Martha the Therapy Dog! 🐶💕

We had a truly heartwarming visit today from Martha, our favourite therapy dog, and her lovely owner. Our residents and staff were absolutely delighted to spend time with her!

Martha is such a calm, gentle soul who brings so much joy wherever she goes. She has a special way of making everyone feel relaxed and happy — and of course, she never says no to a few extra snacks! 🦴😉

Therapy dogs like Martha aren’t just adorable companions — they can help reduce stress, lift spirits, and provide comfort and connection, especially for older adults. We’re so grateful to have her as part of our Brookwater House family. ❤️

We can’t wait to see her again soon!

Yesterday, we had the absolute joy and honour of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone — our lovely resident Pearl turned 100 years young! 💐🎂

To mark the occasion, we were treated to a beautiful live performance by the incredibly talented Connie the violinist, who filled the home with enchanting melodies from Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and more. 🎻✨

It was a day full of laughter, love, music, and memories — just the way Pearl wanted it. 💖

A Wonderful Afternoon at Brookwater House Care Home 🦉🦅

We had an incredible afternoon at Brookwater House, thanks to a visit from the fantastic team at Owl Adventures!

Our residents were treated to a close-up encounter with some amazing birds of prey — each one with their own big personality!

🦉 Teddy, the lively Barn Owl, kept us entertained with his flying antics and constant chatter. He was full of energy and stole the spotlight from the start!

🦉 Gizmo, the sleepy little Scops Owl, took a more relaxed approach — dozing off here and there but still managing to melt hearts with his tiny size and gentle charm.

🦉 Eva, the Canadian Owl, definitely made herself heard! She had lots to say and wasn’t shy about it — she chatted away the whole time and gave everyone a laugh with her loud, talkative nature.

🦅 And last but not least, Maverick, the impressive Falcon, brought a touch of drama and elegance with his powerful presence and stunning looks.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of feathery fun. A big thank you to Owl Adventures for bringing such a magical experience to our home — our residents (and staff!) absolutely loved it.
