I am a Level 3 Iyengar yoga teacher and have been practising Iyengar yoga for thirty years, qualifying as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2009. Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga named after BKS Iyengar. Classes are varied and focus on alignment of the body to achieve flexibility, strength and a quieter mind. Props, such as blocks, bricks and belts are used to help students work correctly and achieve their full potential.

This week classes focus on backbends: poses to open the chest, lift the heart space, access the shoulders and upper back, strengthen the arms and legs to mobilise the spine safely, concluding with releasing, relaxation and savasana.

I am a Level 3 Iyengar yoga teacher (Intermediate Junior 3) and have been practising Iyengar yoga for over twenty five years, qualifying as an Introductory teacher in 2009.
Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga named after BKS Iyengar. Classes are made up of a series of postures (or asanas) which focus on alignment of the body to achieve flexibility, strength and a quieter mind.
Props, such as blocks, bricks and belts are used to help students work correctly and achieve their full potential.
I continue to develop my own practice and knowledge attending regular classes and workshops with senior teachers, including the study of philosophy. I feel privileged to have been taught by members of the Iyengar family, both in the UK and in Pune, India.
I enjoy and embrace the challenges and benefits of Iyengar Yoga, both as a student and teacher and sharing it with my students, adults and children alike.
