Dear Friends,

About six months ago, I shared that my youngest brother Dirk's lymphoma had returned. He has been through two different chemo treatment plans. He has just started his third and final plan under the care of a dedicated medical team who are trying everything. The next 40 or so days will determine whether Dirk comes home or goes into palliative care. Paul, his wonderful husband, has started a worldwide healing mantra circle for Dirk, and we'd be so incredibly grateful if you could join us. Chanting the healing Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung mantra 108 times for 40 straight days will be incredibly powerful. The greater the collective, the greater the healing energy will be.

This mantra taps into the energies of the sun, moon, earth, and the Infinite Spirit to bring deep healing.
Ra – Sun
Ma – Moon
Da – Earth
Sa – Impersonal Infinity
Sa Say – Totality of Infinity
So – Personal sense of merger and identity
Hung – The infinite, vibrating and real.

You can chant it 108 times, keeping track of how many you've said (aloud or silently) by using mala beads . Alternatively, it should take around 11 minutes to repeat the sacred 108 cycles.

Here is a link to some further information. There is also a hyperlink to a beautiful playlist embedded within this article.

Here is a beautiful rendition of the mantra Amanbir Singh and can be found on Spotify.
https://open.spotify.com/track/6KRlpincRyrRf7cT4kf1jn?si=f85aa2b2dad04133

If you belong to a different faith and would prefer to offer your healing energy/prayers differently, it will all be so gratefully received.

Hello Beautiful Yogis,

This time of year for many of us is a challenge. The darkness and cold have met, and the desire to turn deep within is strong. It’s not long though until we start our journey back to light and warmth - just 26 days (not that I’m counting or anything 😂) until 21 December. This date marks the Winter Solstice. It’s the official start to winter, yet it is also a celebration of the return to luminescence and the promise of spring. Astrologically, this day marks when the sun moves from Saggitarius into Capricorn - from an energetic period of creation & accomplishment into a period of rest & retrospection. It is a time to let go of the past and to welcome in new ideas and a fresh sense of focus for the season ahead.

The evening will be filled with a cacao-inspired meditation, a yoga practice consisting of hip openers and grounding asanas to reflect the distinct energies of Sagittarius & Capricorn, a delicious vegetarian dinner catered by a local chef, Reema, and will culminate in a healing sound bath to help you let go of what doesn’t serve you.

We have recently returned from the most incredible yoga retreat at Tofte Manor in Bedfordshire. 24 beautiful souls spent the weekend sharing our love of yoga and our heart’s greatest wishes. My heartfelt thanks goes to Katia, The Nikkis and Dave, who were instrumental in the weekend’s success. We laughed and cried tears of joy, relief and release. We ate the most delicious food, drank a ridiculous amount of herbal tea, walked the star labyrinth, sat and pondered what the underground earth labyrinth brought forth, sat swaying in a massive copper ball listening to the wind chimes playing through ‘speakers’ built into its sides, went cold water swimming (for some, not me!) and enjoyed singing Kirtan together. I am continuously reminded of how privileged I am to be able to share yoga, meditation, and now kirtan with you all.

Autumn is a beautiful season, especially when the sun is casting it’s golden light on the nature surrounding us. Next half term will bring an opportunity to practice mindfulness and reflection in our weekly classes and the Winter Solstice Celebration on 21 December. Please see below for the timetable (Mondays are sadly cancelled after half term) and let me know if you’d like to join for the Solstice, as spaces are filling (only 10 left)!

What a beautiful summer it has been for my family and I. We spent a couple of weeks in Portugal and I fell in love with it so much that I am planning a small and exclusive retreat there in September 2025, so watch this space!

The days in the UK have been beautifully filled with family and friends, wandering around our local woods, walking the streets of London Town until my feet could walk no more, exploring further afield to discover the vibrancy of Sheffield and the unbelievable beauty of the Peak District.

Each morning, I take just 20-30 minutes to just sit, breathe, absorb the universal energy around me, to explore what arises from deep within and to move into each day with joy, gratitude and offering. I have been blessed to teach a few group classes over the summer, as well as offer many Thai Yoga Massages to beautiful souls.

Last week, I began my Reiki training, which is expanding my knowledge and energy further. And so, my journey continues to be incredibly inspiring and healing on all levels. My intention with my “work” (for it has never felt like work in the traditional sense) is to support you in recognising your essence, following your dreams & realising your highest potential.

I am filled with so much excitement about our upcoming classes, our retreat at Tofte Manor in October and the Winter Solstice Celebration in December. And, of course, for those of you curious about the healing art of Thai Massage, I am offering an introductory discount to new clients booking for the first time on two hour treatments (which is a delicious amount of time to be treated from toe to head!).

Today is the last full moon of Spring 2024. It is known as the Flower Moon and is an opportunity for us to wrap up existing matters and to begin new ones. It’s a time to use the positive energy around us, to have fun, expand our knowledge and to assert our visions and make them a reality. I’d love to hear what your plans are - feel free to share them in class, or ping me a message instead 🌸 🌕

Thai Yoga Massage is one of my great loves! It is so much more than just a physical treatment. It is about tuning into and connecting with another being with loving kindness, compassion and mindfulness. It is a powerful modality that frees the flow of energy in the body. It can improve flexibility, breathing, digestion, circulation, sleep and posture. Through the combination of acupressure and stretching, organs are toned, stress and it’s associated conditions is reduced and it leaves you feeling deeply nourished, rejuvenated and peaceful.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it”
- Rumi

Last term, I was blown away by how you all embodied what I taught - it was reflected so beautifully in your practice.

Our new half term of yoga starts tomorrow, 15 April, and I’d love you to join me. We will continue to work on a principle of alignment and contemplation each week so that your practice blossoms on all levels 😊

What a fantastic morning with all these gorgeous souls!
Huge 🙏🏼 for your love and energy ❤️

“I honour the place in me in which the whole universe dwells,
I honour the place in me which is love, truth, light & peace.
I honour the place in you in which the whole universe dwells,
I honour the place in you which is love, truth, light & peace.
When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one.”

And… as I’ve been promising for an eternity… carrot cake recipe follows…

GLUTEN FREE CARROT CAKE
2 cups ground almonds
½ cup GF (or if you’re not gluten intolerant/coeliac, just use normal flour)
2tsp baking powder
1tsp bicarbonate of soda/baking soda
4 cups grated carrot
1 cup oil (sunflower or gr**eseed – not r**e seed - is healthier)
4 large eggs
1 cup walnut or pecan nuts, chopped
1 cup raisins
Pinch salt
Cinnamon (I use about 1 Tbsp)

Mix dry ingredients
Add oil & eggs, beat well
Add carrots
Fold in nuts & raisins

Icing
200g full fat cream cheese
About 50-100g butter
1 Tbsp vanilla essence
About 100g icing sugar – I’m never precise – I just add until it’s the correct consistency

Yum yum! Enjoy 😋🤤

Join me at our Heart Opening Love Workshop
Saturday 23 March ‘24 in Ashtead 10:00-12:00

This is the fourth & final workshop in our Wisdom Yoga Series. It comes at the perfect time, as we transition from winter to spring. During the winter, we literally brace ourselves against the cold and hunker down for several months. Yet in the spring, the warmth of the sun, the longer days and the beauty of buds popping in every direction entice us to get into nature and to connect with people. This workshop will be a journey through a dynamic flow, restorative postures and contemplations that will lovingly invite your heart to open to love, kindness, joy, compassion and freedom. Tsoknyi Rinpoche says, “Life begins with love, is maintained with love, and ends with love. Right now, while we’re alive, is the time to practice and express love”. We’ll have some time together at the end to indulge in tea and my now-famous carrot cake (actually it’s my sister-in-law’s recipe that I’ve adapted to be GF and I PROMISE to share the recipe!!)
With many thanks to Dave Hoyle for the photography 🙏🏼
