We were delighted to welcome Ms Elsa Perez and her wonderful dancing group, who filled our home with the vibrant energy of Latin American dances.
Residents enjoyed the colourful costumes, lively music, and the joy that radiated from every performance, it truly felt like a mini fiesta right here💃🎶✨

Today, for National Book Lovers Day, we gathered in our library to share stories about our favourite books and celebrate what it is about reading that captures our hearts.

Umberto Eco once said, “The person who doesn’t read lives only one life. The reader lives 5,000. Reading is immortality backwards.”

And honestly, we couldn’t agree more. Here’s to the magic of books, the countless worlds, adventures, and lives they let us live.

Our residents were treated to a beautiful clarinet performance from a talented musician at the Royal Academy of Music. 🎶 Music truly has a special way of touching hearts, and today was a wonderful reminder of that.

Today was a very special day as we celebrated International Cat Day, a time to honour and appreciate these wonderful animals who bring so much joy into our lives. 🐾🐱

Our residents enjoyed watching the fascinating documentary Inside the Cat’s Mind, which gave us an insight into the mysterious and playful world of our feline friends.
Afterwards, we shared stories and memories about the cats we’ve loved over the years, from cheeky kittens to loyal companions, each one leaving pawprints on our hearts.

Whilst some of our residents enjoyed getting creative with Jamaican inspired arts and crafts, others decided to relax in our cinema to watch One Love, a wonderful film exploring Jamaica’s rich history, music and culture. It was the perfect way to celebrate and learn more about this vibrant island nation.

We’re still celebrating Jamaican Independence Day and our residents enjoyed a creative afternoon making colourful Jamaican inspired arts and crafts, bringing the vibrant spirit of the island to life.

Our residents took a trip to the Caribbean with our Armchair Travel to Jamaica! ✈️🌴

Our wonderful Dementia Care Manager, Samantha, shared her Jamaican roots and brought the island to life with stories, culture and joy. From the music to the memories, everyone felt the warmth of the Caribbean sunshine right from their chairs.

We tucked into a delicious spread of Jamaican water crackers with prawns, plantain and cassava snacks, all washed down with ginger beer, root beer and the famous fruity Jamaican punch! 🍤🥥🍹

🍉🎨 To celebrate National Watermelon Day, our creative residents got stuck into some juicy fun by making beautiful Watermelon themed Art and Crafts. 💚❤️

We enjoyed a wonderful trip to Holy Trinity Church to see The Woodland Chamber Singers all the way from California 🌎🎤

The performance was absolutely beautiful full of soul, harmony, and heart. It was such a joy to experience live music in such a stunning setting, and our residents loved every moment.

We’re thrilled to be hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning here at Wimbledon Common Care Home on Thursday 26th September at 11am, and we’d love for you to join us.

Expect delicious cakes, endless cups of tea and coffee, fun games, a raffle, and a chance to come together for a truly meaningful cause. All donations will go towards supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible work they do for people living with cancer.

💖 Celebrating Friendship 💖
We marked International Friendship Day with a joyful card making session, spreading love, memories and a little sparkle to honour the friends who mean the most.

Our wonderful Activities Supervisor, Katia, celebrated her birthday last week while on holiday in beautiful Lake Como. She’s now back, and we’re so glad to have her with us again.

Some of our lovely residents marked the occasion by singing Happy Birthday and enjoying tea and cake together.
Every day at 3pm, our tea and cake trolley makes its rounds, so we used the opportunity to celebrate. 🎂☕🎉
