Menospace turns 3 this week and we're incredibly proud of how far we've come.

In that time, we’ve had the privilege of working with 100+ organisations and tens of thousands of employees, helping to build better, more inclusive support for women at work.

Running your own business teaches you a lot.

Here are 10 things we’ve learned up to now:

1. Partnerships are everything. You can’t build a successful business in isolation. Collaboration is key!

2. Don't be scared to ask for advice. You can’t know everything and you’re not supposed to.

3. Not everything will work. Failure is inevitable, but it’s also where the learning lives.

4. Keep going when it gets hard. The moment you want to quit is often the moment things start to shift.

5. Reach out to people. The worst that can happen is they say 'no'. If they do, move on.

6. Perfection is overrated. Progress comes from doing, sharing and learning, not waiting until it’s flawless.

7. If you want to start a business, go for it. It may be the best career decision you ever make, but be smart. Don’t give up financial stability too early. Build alongside the day job if needed.

8. Be prepared to evolve. What you imagined at the start won’t be where you end up and that’s a good thing. Stay flexible.

9. Know your strengths. Focus on what you’re good at and pay others to do what they’re better at than you.

10. Remember who supported you at the beginning and when you can - pay it forward.

I keep hearing the same things from women again and again during my menopause training sessions:

"Why didn’t anyone tell me this?"
"I’ve been struggling for months and I don't know what to do"
"I'm overwhelmed with all of the information"

I've been thinking for ages that a lot of women need some simple, quick and effective information and guidance, that won't cost much, so...

I bring to you these practical, no-fluff, menopause guides.

Covering everything from mood & hormone changes, food planning, exercise routines, lifestyle, sleep, journalling and self-care. Basically, what I wish someone had given to me a few years ago:

✅ Clear, easy-to-follow structure
✅ Zero fluff - just practical tools and strategies
✅ Something you can print and scribble on while having a cuppa
✅ Gentle guidance, not jargon
✅ Stuff you can implement straight away

This is heartbreaking.

An inquest has heard that a woman tragically took her own life after struggling with mental health symptoms linked to the perimenopause and menopause.

She battled increasing anxiety, paranoia and overwhelming distress and like so many others, she didn’t get the support she needed in time.

This should never happen.
And yet, it is happening, more often than many realise.

The NHS is under immense pressure. Waiting lists are long. Specialist help is limited. Where does that leave women in crisis?

We need:
🔹 Greater awareness, so women understand what’s happening to their minds and bodies.

🔹 More support in the workplace so women aren’t suffering in silence while trying to hold down jobs.

🔹 Confident, informed conversations so managers and colleagues know how to spot the signs and respond appropriately.

🔹 Safe workplace cultures, where stigma doesn’t silence people who are already struggling.

Menopause isn’t just hot flushes. It can affect every part of a woman’s life — her relationships, her confidence, her mental health, even her will to live.

We can’t accept this as the norm.

We have to do better.
