Many of my clients come to me because as well as wanting to feel better and be healthier, they want to lose weight.

As well as advising them on which food to eat - I always want to make sure they're aware of Zone Two Exercise, here's why 👇

If you live in the UK (or somewhere else that gets little sunshine, especially in winter) - chances are you could be Vitamin D deficient!

In fact, vitamin D is the only vitamin the NHS says that everyone should consider supplementing (although I like to supplement a few other things too!).

Personally I recommend taking vitamin D in liquid form rather than in tablets, as it offers potential advantages of faster absorption, higher bioavailability, and easier administration for certain people.

Here's how to tell if your low on Vitamin D 👇

Do you find that your mood can change one minute to the next? Or do you struggle with low mood?

Rather than questioning if there is something going on with your brain, have you considered that it might be originating from your gut?

Here are 6 signs that your gut might be affecting your mood 👇

Most people love potatoes but if you are watching your weight, or avoiding blood sugar spikes you are likely avoiding potatoes. When I cook potatoes I let them cool down and then I put them in the fridge overnight, simply heating them up or making my roast potatoes the next day. Read my article to find out why ……

When prepared and eaten mindfully, potatoes can be nourishing, satisfying, and gut-friendly, even for those watching their blood sugar.

Most people eat their breads and grains completely unaware of this toxin. I have written this article which explains what glyphosate is, how we are most exposed to it, what the major concerns to our health are and then what to do about it.

Many people have never heard of it, yet glyphosate is present in much of our food supply. The question is: how might this affect our health, and what can we do about it?

Feeling tired, bloated, or dealing with joint pain? It could be hidden inflammation.

Chronic inflammation isn’t always obvious, but it can lead to fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, skin problems, and even autoimmune conditions. The good news? You can lower inflammation by making simple changes to your diet and lifestyle.

🔍 How to Identify Your Inflammation Triggers:

Gut imbalances – Poor digestion and bloating may signal an issue
Food sensitivities – Gluten, dairy, and processed foods could be causing inflammation
Chronic stress – Elevated cortisol levels fuel inflammation
Toxin exposure – Pesticides, heavy metals, and chemicals in skincare and cleaning products
Poor sleep & sedentary habits – Lack of movement and rest can make inflammation worse

🥗 What Helps Reduce Inflammation?

Eat more leafy greens, berries, turmeric, wild-caught fish, and healthy fats
Limit processed foods, refined sugar, excess dairy, and artificial additives
Prioritise lifestyle changes – Manage stress, improve sleep, move daily, and stay hydrated
Inflammation isn’t always easy to spot, but addressing these factors can make a huge difference in your energy, focus, and overall health.

Just because you look lean doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Many people assume that if they don’t gain visible weight, they’re in the clear—but what if the fat is hiding inside? Being "skinny fat" means having low muscle mass and high body fat, often due to a sedentary lifestyle and low protein intake.

Stress makes things worse—cortisol breaks down muscle for energy, and if that energy isn’t used, it gets stored as fat. The most dangerous kind? Visceral fat—the kind that surrounds your organs, increasing your risk for serious health issues. If you think being naturally thin means you’re healthy, it might be time to check what’s happening beneath the surface.

Feeling tired, foggy, or run-down? It could be a Vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D is essential for energy, mood, immunity, and bone health, yet so many people are unknowingly low on it. Signs of deficiency can include:

☁️ Fatigue & low mood
🤧 Frequent colds or slow healing
💭 Brain fog & poor concentration
💪 Muscle weakness & joint pain
🦴 Bone pain or increased fracture risk

What can you do?

Get more sunlight – Aim for 10-30 minutes a day
Eat vitamin D-rich foods – Fatty fish, egg yolks, mushrooms
Check your levels – A simple blood test can confirm deficiency
Consider a supplement – Especially in winter or if levels are low

If these symptoms sound familiar, it might be time to boost your vitamin D. Have you ever had your levels checked? Let me know in the comments!

What if your weight gain wasn’t just about food or exercise, but something deeper? Obesogen-Induced Obesity is caused by toxins—pesticides, plastics, mold, and chemicals—that accumulate in your body. Since these toxins can damage your organs, your body protects itself by storing them in fat cells, making you gain weight.

They also disrupt hormones, slow metabolism, and increase inflammation. If you’re trying to lose weight, remember: slow and steady wins the race. Losing weight too quickly can release these toxins into your system all at once, which can be harmful. Detoxing the right way is just as important as weight loss itself.
