Our 2 premium peptide eye cream recommendations are :
👌🏽 Skinceuticals AGE advanced eye cream
a versatile and effective all rounder, uses unique technology to brighten, smooth, and firm the eye , perfect for those seeing early creasing or the effects of fatigue around the eyes.
How does it work ? The clue is in the name - it is designed to combat advanced glycation end products- AGE - that are responsible for signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles with ingredients like peptides and blueberry extract , Glycyrrhetinic acid, Matrixyl, caffeine, optical brighteners all working to soften those fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and skin

👌🏽 Alastin Restorative eye cream which has TriHex Technology®. A peptide blend that clears out damaged elastin and collagen while promoting new, healthy collagen and elastin production. Green Tea and Oak Leaf Tea Extracts target discoloration caused by vascular pooling improving dark circles . Mimosa Tree Extract and Darutoside work together to improve skin firmness around the eye and reduce puffiness. Niacinamide and Tetrapeptide-30 help brighten and even skin tone.

Our top 2 budget :
👌🏽Allies of skin Peptides eye cream

👌🏽Medik 8 eyelid peptide

Peptides sound complicated in skincare but they are really not !
They are messengers signalling to your skin and depending on the type of peptide they can signal for example to make more collagen or elastin.

There are different types - ones for boosting collagen, ones for improving skin barrier support and ones to help neurotransmitters called Neuropeptides

Like with all skincare ingredients formula is key rather than just the name on the bottle

We will share our top peptides products shortly

Ever wondered whether to use both Red and Blue settings or just blue when you have inflammatory acne - this trial has confirmed our advanced practice at Faciem.

This was an open label RCT
30 subjects over a 8 weeks period with inflammatory acne mild to moderate
Looking at 660nm and 415nm LED
Subjects followed up at 4 and 8 weeks
The subjects using RED and BLUE LED light were significantly better than Blue alone

LED is a great treatment for mild acne alone, moderate and above should prompt a consult with a dermatology doctor and severe acne with scarring should be done urgently to prevent natural skin collagen scarring and self esteem

Obaji Rebalance is a barrier-repair moisturiser designed to calm, hydrate, and restore the skin when it becomes irritated or damaged.

What it does
It helps repair the skin barrier and rebalance the skin microbiome. It’s commonly used when skin is:
• irritated or sensitive
• dry or dehydrated
• recovering after treatments (peels, lasers, retinoids)
• over-exfoliated from acids or strong skincare

Key benefits
• 🧴 Restores hydration and strengthens the skin barrier
• 🌿 Calms redness and irritation
• 🛡️ Helps protect the skin from environmental stress
• 💧 Supports skin recovery after procedures or active ingredients

Clinical testing reported improved skin hydration after first use in study participants.

Main ingredients
The cream uses BarrierPlex™ technology, which includes:
• Postbiotics – support a healthy skin microbiome
• Ceramides – repair and strengthen the barrier
• Niacinamide (vitamin B3) – reduces redness and inflammation
• Green algae extract – antioxidant and soothing hydration

How to use
• Apply 2–4 pumps to the face morning and evening
• Use after cleansing and before sunscreen in the morning.

✅ Best for:
• sensitive skin
• damaged skin barrier
• people using retinoids or exfoliating acids
• post-treatment skin recovery

❗ Not specifically an acne as it can be too occlusive and blocking to the pores if used long term

Peptides and growth factors are excellent non irritating messengers because they can truly make your skin act younger, activating fibroblasts (which help facilitate the production of collagen and other proteins) increasing the rate of skin-cell turnover, and helping you respond better to UV or environmental damage

They are like tiny messengers for your skin. They are often short chains of amino acids, and when you put them on your skin, they basically tap cells on your shoulder to do more of the good things like :

1. Signal collagen + elastin production
Many peptides tell your skin to make more collagen and elastin. Result: firmer skin, smoother texture, and over time, fewer fine lines.

2. Improve skin barrier strength
Some peptides help your skin rebuild its barrier, which means better moisture retention and less irritation. Skin feels calmer, stronger, and less reactive.

3. Support repair and healing
They can help with skin recovery—useful if you’ve overdone it with actives, had a treatment, or just want skin to bounce back faster.

4. Subtle wrinkle-softening
Certain peptides (often called “neurotransmitter-inhibiting” peptides) can slightly relax repetitive facial muscle contractions. Will give you very gentle, topical, baby-Botox vibes—not dramatic, but smoothing over time.

5. Overall skin resilience
With consistent use, peptides can make skin behave more younger : better elasticity, smoother surface, and improved tolerance to other ingredients.

Three next-gen peptides to know: copper tripeptide-1 (improves wound healing and collagen support); oligopeptide-68 (a modern brightening peptide that reduces pigmentation pathways without irritation), and microbiome-targeting peptides (an emerging class that helps balance redness, acne and overall skin tolerance).

Exosomes - the buzz word in Dermatology and aesthetics but are they worth the hype ?

* Ask your practitioner what the source of exosome is
* Ask you practitioner how it will be applied to your skin
* Read through our slides for more information

Practical takeaway
• Medical or post-procedure use: human-derived, well-characterised exosomes only available in US and other countries not in UK
• Daily skincare: plant-derived vesicles can still be soothing and antioxidant-supportive but not bio compatible really with humans
• Budget products: may give you short term glow and barrier support, not true regeneration similar to topical hyaluronic acid is versus injected

How Many do you need for the best results ?

There’s no set dosage yet, but early research suggests:
📌 Higher exosome concentrations lead to better skin regeneration
📌 Daily use in skincare is safe
📌 In-clinic treatments (microneedling + exosomes) are done every 4–6 weeks
More studies are needed to confirm the best dose and treatment frequency.

We currently use Bovine colostrum source which we feel is a middle ground but what is allowed and acceptable in the UK and has good evidence to suggest it is more effective than plan derived but safer than human derived.
