Today is Samuel Hahnemann's birthday.
Born 10th April 1755.
A good day to return to a question that sits at the very heart of what we do.
What do we really mean when we call homeopathy an energy medicine?
When we potentise a remedy — that rhythmic process of dilution and succussion — something extraordinary happens. The material substance gradually falls away. What remains is no longer chemistry in the conventional sense. It is something dynamic, something spirit-like. A pattern. An essence. Hahnemann called it geistige Heilkräfte — spirit-like healing powers.
He believed these powers lay dormant within every substance in nature. Sleeping. Waiting to be liberated.
When that liberated essence meets a vital force that recognises it — not through chemical action, but through resonance — something shifts.
This is what we mean by energy medicine. Not something vague or secondary, but something that goes to the very root of what it is to heal.
I've explored this more deeply in my latest blog — The Arcanum: What We Really Mean by Energy Medicine.
