Join us in saying thank you to our 140+ incredible supporters who took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon and Brighton Marathon on Sunday to help transform care at King’s.

is made up of hard-working King's College Hospital NHS staff, previous patients making a difference in recognition of the care they’ve received, those running in honour of a loved one and people determined to just make a difference.

Together, they’ve raised over £124,321 so far to help transform life-changing care at King’s!

This incredible achievement reflects months of commitment and determination from them all, and we couldn’t be prouder.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who ran, donated, and cheered from the sidelines to make it such a memorable weekend. Thank you! 💛

We're delighted to celebrate an incredible achievement by King's College Hospital NHS which last year performed a record number of liver transplants - 277 in total ➡️ https://www.kch.nhs.uk/news/record-breaking-year-for-liver-transplants-at-kings/

In 2025, it carried out 227 adult liver transplants, and 50 paediatric transplants - which is believed to be the most ever completed by a single centre in the UK during a calendar year.

Since 2022, King's College Hospital Charity has invested more than £1.6m in liver research - including grants researching techniques to improve liver transplant outcomes. This includes machine perfusion - used to maintain quality of donated organs during transfer and transplantation and immunology to prevent rejection of livers post-transplant.

Through this vital work we aim to enable more people to successfully receive live-saving liver transplants 💛

Ahead of next week’s London Landmarks Half Marathon, we’re shining a special light on Claire, who’s running to give back to King's College Hospital NHS after our incredible teams saved both her father-in-law’s and her niece’s lives. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact your support makes.

“I have chosen to run for King’s due to the amazing care they gave my father-in-law when he suffered a bleed on the brain almost 20 years ago and no doubt saved his life.”

“Then 8 years ago, my lovely niece Libby was taken into their care and had surgery to remove cavernomas on her brain when she was just 14.”

“I’m so thankful - King’s staff are just amazing.” 💛

Join us in saying a big THANK YOU to Bidvest Noonan and CBRE UK, who this week very generously dropped off a selection of Easter eggs to the brilliant Play and Youth Team at King’s.

Patients across across King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (King's College Hospital NHS) are at the heart of what we do. These treats will bring a moment of joy and normality to children and their families in hospital over the Easter weekend, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud to help make happen.

We’re so grateful to everyone working together across King’s to deliver life-changing, compassionate care this bank holiday weekend 💛

In November 2024, 16-year-old Elliot was diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) a tangle of blood vessels, which if they burst can lead to a stroke or brain damage.

Elliot required brain surgery, which he underwent at King's in June 2025. After eight months of various visits to King's College Hospital, Elliot underwent a successful 13-hour surgery and there is now no sign of the AVM. He will continue to be monitored in the future in order to ensure that the AVM does not return, but his recovery has been nothing short of amazing.

While Kirsty was at King's, she saw the advert for the London Landmarks Half Marathon. She texted her friend Kim, whose daughter is at the same school as Elliot, to ask if she wanted run it together to say thank you to King's and to acknowledge everything that had been done for them as a family.

Last week, we were privileged to be invited to a special event championing ‘Impact with Intention’ at Ellisse by Spacemade. The room was electric with incredible organisations all focused on driving social good through their work.

Our CEO, Alan Bolchover, was thrilled to join a panel of passionate leaders to share how King’s College Hospital Charity are transforming lives for staff, patients and their loved ones across our hospitals and it was clear how much of a difference King’s had made to people in the room.

We’re very grateful to Ellisse by Spacemade for choosing King’s College Hospital Charity as one of their charities to support throughout 2026. Every ticket was a direct donation to King’s College Hospital Charity and will be matched by Spacemade, meaning that every pound will go twice as far in supporting patients, their families, and staff across the Trust.

Thank you Spacemade for your brilliant support. Together, we’ll transform care 💛

When Kevin was 35 years old, he was diagnosed with polycystic liver disease (PLD), a hereditary condition where normal liver tissue is replaced by numerous fluid-filled cysts.

Kevin's liver is about ten times the size of a normal adult. After two liver transplantation assessments, he was asked by his liver consultation team if he could lose around 40kg of weight, to improve his health overall and support his recovery of an upcoming major operation.

Remarkably, Kevin has lost 30kg and he has signed up to this year's London Landmarks Half Marathon along with his son and a close friend.

Kevin is looking forward to the challenge - to give back to King’s and, by sharing his story, to help inspire other people with polycystic liver disease.

Work continues on the Critical Care Roof Garden at King's College Hospital NHS which is part funded by the Charity, with the installation of equipment for medical gases.

This will help ensure that even the most critically ill patients are able to experience the physical and emotional benefits of fresh air, greenery and sunlight, supporting their wellbeing and recovery 💛

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to our Winter Appeal.

Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve raised £39,204 so far - an amazing total that simply wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness and generosity of the King’s community 💛

It’s not too late to join them and help us reach £40,000 and continue to extend our support to more patients, families, and staff at King’s.

💛 This Love Your Liver Month, we’re celebrating the lives saved by King’s Liver Transplant Unit – a world-class service and home to the largest liver transplantation programme in Europe.

Love Your Liver Month, which takes place each January, aims to raise awareness about liver health and the steps people can take to keep this vital organ healthy.

This week, we’re shining a light on Simon. After becoming critically ill with liver failure, a transplant at King’s saved his life – without it, he wouldn’t be here today

Now, Simon is making the most of his second chance. He’s competed in World Transplant Games around the globe, meeting fellow transplantees and celebrating the power of organ donation.

💛 1,000 patients undergo robotic surgery at King’s 💛

Surgeons at King’s have now performed 1,000 operations using the surgical robot part-funded by the Charity in just over two years.

This incredible technology is helping people recover more quickly, experience less pain, and get back to the things that matter most – from spending time with family to returning to everyday life.

It’s also opening up surgery for patients who might not have been able to have it safely before. A huge thank you to everyone who helps make this life-changing care possible. 💛
