King’s College Hospital Charity are dedicated to supporting life-changing care at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. King’s patients are at the heart of everything that we do. We make the best care for patients possible by raising money for cutting edge equipment and facilities, supporting our staff, innovative research and pioneering treatment.

This winter, King’s will open a world-first Outdoor Critical Care Unit and garden – a sanctuary high above the hospital where critically ill patients can experience fresh air, light, and the healing power of nature as part of their recovery 🌳🌻

Fully funded by King’s College Hospital Charity, this pioneering space will complete the vision for our new Critical Care Centre – giving even our sickest patients the chance to receive world-class medical care while seeing the sky, feeling the breeze, and beginning life again.

With your support, we can keep creating spaces that don’t just save lives – but help them heal, grow, and begin anew.

Today, we mark 30 years since the passing of Professor Alex Mowat, a true pioneer who transformed the treatment and care of children with liver disease, and whose impact continues to shape research undertaken at Mowatlabs, here at King’s.

Alex’s legacy lives on through the Alex Mowat PhD Studentships. Over the past three decades, the Mowat family have supported ten exceptional PhD students, each helping drive forward discoveries that improve the outcomes for children.

We're proud to support this brilliant work 💛

Run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for life-changing care 💛

Last year, Claire took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon 🏙️ as part of Team King’s — running for a cause deeply personal to her 💛.

In January 2024, her 2-year-old daughter Olive was diagnosed with a brain tumour 💔. What followed was 8 weeks in hospital, 5 procedures, and a 10-hour major operation to remove the tumour.

Thanks to King’s incredible care, Olive has made a strong recovery 🙌.

“King’s were incredible from the first moment we walked into A&E until the minute we left and all the aftercare since.” – Claire

This year, you can join the mission. Sign up for the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026, wear your Team King’s shirt 👕, and run knowing every mile helps deliver life-changing care.

Donor spotlight ✨

When Greer and Lochlan arrived at just 26 weeks, Daniel & Kristina Ogunmade faced a long, uncertain journey. Their twin boys spent an extended time in King’s NICU, receiving life-saving care.

“It was a long, rough stay, but our boys received the best care and treatment. We definitely cannot put a monetary value on what King’s did for our family, saving our boys’ lives…we are blessed to be able to donate annually so that King’s can continue to research and bring life-saving treatments to others.”

Their donations support NICU research focused on preventing infant deaths and developing gentler ways to help babies breathe. Thanks to families like theirs, King’s can continue pioneering work to give premature babies the best possible start in life. 💛

❄️ No one should leave hospital to face the cold streets alone. Yet for some of our patients at King’s, that’s the reality they face.

Thanks to generous funding from our supporters, we’ve been able to provide vulnerable and homeless patients with winter warmer packs filled with essentials like fleeces, scarves, backpacks, and fresh clothing.

These packs offered more than warmth. They brought dignity, hope, and the reassurance that someone cared. 💛

The support has reached those most in need, including patients facing homelessness, including some fleeing domestic abuse. For some, these essentials have been the first step towards stability.

💛 With your help, we can continue funding small but mighty projects like this. Projects that change lives.

✨ Honouring the generosity of our incredible supporter, Bill Griffiths.

In 1973, while serving as a detective, Bill was stabbed in the neck during an arrest and only survived thanks to an emergency transfusion.

Decades later, he discovered he had contracted Hepatitis C, leading to life-threatening liver damage. Thanks to the outstanding care of our Hepatology Department, Bill is here today, and has given back in extraordinary ways.

💛 £5,000 to bring toys and comfort to children on our hepatology ward
💛 £5,000 to fund a staff room at PRUH stroke unit after his wife received life-saving care
💛 £5,000 to support ground-breaking liver research at King’s

Bill’s generosity has touched lives across our hospitals, bringing joy to children, supporting staff wellbeing, and helping drive pioneering research.

We are truly grateful to Bill for his kindness and commitment. Donors like him make it possible for us to go further than the NHS can alone.
