Some obese people never lose weight. In short, they lack sufficient motivation and incentives, or their obesity doesn't directly harm them. If you were to tell an obese person, 'Lose 20 pounds every month, and in two months, lose 40 pounds, and I'll give you $1 million!' you'd see if they'd go to extremes to lose weight! Additionally, some obese individuals suffer from complications like fatty liver or diabetes. If they don't shed 30 pounds, it could be life-threatening. Would they then take weight loss seriously? Another scenario: if you were to tell an obese person, 'If you don't lose 30 pounds in two months, I'll shoot you!' would they still dare to sneak midnight snacks? Of course, these humorous scenarios are just ideas; the fundamental issue lies in insufficient motivation for weight loss.
You'll notice that the same group of people keeps struggling with dieting in your social circle for years without success. Just as there are reasons for being thin, there are also survival strategies for being fat! Obese individuals tend to deceive themselves, saying things like, 'I won't eat this meal, or I'll start tomorrow...' or 'I only had a little bit. It should be fine, right? This food isn't high in calories.' They often sneak food in secret, meaning they consume alarming amounts when in public! They eat when bored, sad, or even happy - using food to justify their emotions. If you've been dieting for years without success, it's likely because life hasn't dealt you enough blows. When you suffer due to obesity - experiencing breakups, job rejections, discrimination, gossip behind your back, or diseases caused by obesity - only then will you truly start taking action. Even if it's incredibly difficult at the beginning, sticking to it is not just a matter of willpower. If losing weight were easy, the world wouldn't have obesity.
Don't listen to those who sugarcoat obesity, telling you, 'You're not fat! What's wrong with being a little overweight? You're even cuter when you're fat! It's fine, you don't need to lose weight; nutrition is what matters. Losing weight harms your body.' If you believe these words, you're incredibly naive! People advocate against discriminating against obese individuals, yet they're the ones who face discrimination. Just watch movies and TV shows; obese characters are often depicted as naive, lazy, or incredibly stupid. Gluttonous characters are portrayed as lacking intelligence. In most cases, obese characters undergo a transformation into muscular individuals. So, if you can't change societal norms and prejudices against obese individuals, then don't bother with them!
There's no weight that can't be lost; you just haven't put in enough effort. If you don't make sacrifices, do you expect obesity and ugliness to disappear magically? It's impossible! Losing weight is more painful than studying because you have to do it every day, 24/7. You must control your appetite and engage in sports, which can be incredibly challenging. Everyone wants to relax after work, eat takeout, and watch TV, but you won't have these luxuries if you're trying to lose weight. There may even be months where you don't lose a single pound, forcing you to rebuild your fragile mindset. If losing weight were easy, it wouldn't be called weight loss! It's unrealistic to want to eat well and lose weight quickly. Some suggest liposuction, but it's better to lose weight through a balanced diet and exercise, not through surgery. Weight loss isn't just about shedding fat; it's about achieving a healthy body and forming healthy habits!
