A lovely thing to start 2026 with!
Back in April I submitted a prose poem to this publisher called "Plants & Poetry" they publish anthologies and solo books all about our connection to nature, eco poetry and so on.
As I hadn't heard back from them in ages, I assumed my piece was not accepted so I forgot all about it.
Today I get an email from the editors saying it has been accepted and will be in their upcoming anthology "Rituals & Remedies"!!!
My piece is called "Intrinsic Glory" and is a meditative piece on the quiet rituals we do as we watch the world go by which acts as our remedy to the harshness of life.
I may add this to a Nidra meditation at some point.
What I love about 'Plants & Poetry' is that not only are they spreading awareness about the earth but they raise money for planting trees and other eco conservation work.
The print anthology will be released end of this month I believe and I'm being sent the E-book next week!
I'm considering writing up a short poetry manuscript of maybe 10 poems to see if they'll accept them and turn them into a poetry pamphlet? Who doesn't love nature poetry?
For those who don't know, a pamphlet is a collection of sample work stapled together (either by the poet or local printing press) whereas a book is professionally bound.
I have a few poetry pamphlets on my shelf, they're really nice intros to a poet's work plus they're a lovely size to pop in bags.
I am working on my 3rd poetry book which is a collaboration between myself and another poet/artist but I do feel an itch to create something for 'Plants & Poetry' to make a lil poetry pamphlet inspired by nature ๐๐ฅฐ
