As well as being interviewed, I have published an article on Medium. This is a trinity in association with my book Word Witchery.
This first article gives you a glimpse as to what my book is about-- the history of the power of word craft The second will go into the psychology of the more shadowy sides of communication and how that can be detrimental to our well-being and lastly the final article will be about words for healing. So stay tuned for the next two.

Hello Darlings ๐Ÿ’
I'm loving the fresh yet changeble spring weather we're having: April showers to absolute sunshine pouring through the living room.
I hope you've enjoyed your Easter weekend.

Here's a lil something I want to share, Its such an honour to have been interviewed by The Northern Folklore Archive (as I am a Lancashire Lass) and it's now up for you to read!
I talk about my past and how that informed who I am throughout my life and where I'm headed, the intersection between being an interdisciplinary artist, historian and yoga teacher: how they all weave as one big life tapestry for me and also how my book Word Witchery came into being.

Find a sun spot, grab a cup of โ˜• and ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿฅš and enjoy!

A small glimpse into a side to me and life path when I'm not writing and researching.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
I've been learning Sanskrit on and off, since 2018-- first with Sharada Devi and the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies. More recently I've begun learning mantra sangha consistently with my teacher . This is a glimpse into a devotional aspect of me. I spend a lot of time at my altars chanting mantra. It's been very healing for me as someone shy with my voice.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Soon, I'll also begin learning Persian (Farsi)-- drawn not only to its beauty but to the deep roots it shares with Sanskrit and the ancient cultural threads that run between them. Ancient Greek is also on the cards in the near future too.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
I know many of you are here for folklore, pilgrimage, paganism, poetry, travel and art-- which is still very much who I am. Alongside all of that sits my yogic life. My long standing love for yoga, it's philosophy, mantra and more.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
There is more of a cross over here than it might first seem-- mantra after all is a kind of ritual. Speaking into being. Not so far from what we might call a "spell".
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
It's something I explore deeply in my book Word Witchery-- that words, poems, language is spoken not just to communicate but to shape, to bless, to invoke. Available on Amazon now.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Currently dipping into all of this beautiful energy and more while attending the online festival which is happening now!

Sacred breath from which utterance, symbols, words, poetry and writing was birthed into creation.
๐Ÿ”ฎ
This book delves into the archeology of Prehistoric cave markings, ancient magical hymns to commune with deities inscribed on pottery and stone tablets, medieval magical writings on manuscripts and more. With an entire chapter dedicated to lesser known priestesses, courtly women, bards and women mystics who wrote poetry to the divine and writings about esoteric visions.
The second half of the book is brimming with poetry spells and writing rituals for contemporary witches, pagans and priestesses to try if they wish plus a plethora of extra golden nuggets of magical facts from around the world.
I dedicated this book to my grandmother, to those who consider word craft as sacred and to the goddess Saraswati

Published with available on Amazon, Waterstones and local independent bookshops.

Oldy worldy vibes, lush landscapes, epic skies and cosy smiles. Our first mini break of the year happened a couple of weeks ago. We ventured to Exeter for a long weekend. I used to live in Devon, specifically Plymouth but would visit Exeter and other surrounding places often, yet this is my fiance's first visit and he loved it! More mini breaks and travel on the cards as always as it informs my writing and research
๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Exeter has some incredible folklore. In 1855, people across Devon woke up to find miles of mysterious hoof-like tracks in the snow, crossing rooftops, walls and even rivers. Locals called them the Devilโ€™s Footprints, and no one has ever fully explained them. Even stranger, in 1737 fishermen near Exeter reportedly caught a creature with a human-like upper body and a salmon-like tail in the River Exeโ€”fueling one of the areaโ€™s oldest mermaid legends. A be-headed saint, flying boats, witchcraft and Roman ghosts also add to Exeter's folk stories of magic and the macabre.
๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Exeter is the start of a story Iโ€™m not ready to tell yet..this is currently a small chapter on hold, waiting to be written as a big chapter ๐Ÿคซ
๐Ÿ‘ฃ
Until then I'll keep on being mystical, magical and macabre.

It is energy this weekend and the whole of March is as well.
I wanted to celebrate the achievements of women by sharing a glimpse of fascinating information from my book and research about incredible mystical women who created poetry and writings throughout history. These women's voices were almost lost to obscurity and their work is fragmented (unlike men writers of their time). You can find these examples and more in my book WORD WITCHERY: Walking the Path of the Poetry Priestess.
๐Ÿ“š
In the book I explore the ancient connection between poetry and magic, medieval mystical writings and an entire chapter devoted to obscure poetry priestesses and esoteric writers.
๐Ÿ“š
Bringing some of them to light will empower and illuminate the way for our voices.
Honouring women's voices in all aspects of life so we may weave our worlds with words!

Our first London day trip of 2026 and we ventured out to visit St Etheldreda's church which houses a reliquary box of her hand (supposedly). I love all things mysterious, mystical and macabre so this encapsulates everything I am passionate about, plus I love visiting old churches to appreciate the architecture, stained glass art and even the Gothic graveyards.
๐Ÿ—๏ธ
St Etheldreda was a medieval princess, abbess and Saint of the Anglo-Saxons. Folklore states that her staff bloomed into a tree when she planted it in the ground and many years after her death, her body was preserved and uncorrupted which symbolised her divinity.
๐Ÿ—๏ธ
Although I'm pagan, I can appreciate these old and quiet places of devotion, especially if they're attributed to an interesting woman of the divine, mystical or uncanny.
