📣 Some news!

We're thrilled to share that we are partnering The Fore to reach more disabled people through inclusive sport.

Disabled people are still far more likely to be physically inactive than non-disabled people, and barriers are even greater for those with complex disabilities.

Support from The Fore means we can recruit a specialist Community Coach to work with groups supporting people with complex disabilities. This will grow our reach and income, while also upskilling our existing coaches, so we are better equipped to meet rising demand.

Amardeep Gill, Head of Fundraising and Communications, said: “This partnership gives us the capacity to say yes to more opportunities and plan sustainably for the future. Crucially, it means more disabled people can be active in ways that work for them, with clear benefits for physical and mental health.”

A new year, and a good moment to (re)introduce Disability Sports Coach!

Our Community Clubs are back this week across London, supporting disabled people to be active, social and part of their local community.

Alongside our clubs, we deliver:

- Inclusive Sport Sessions at community groups across London
- Training courses that help individuals and organisations build the confidence to adapt sport so everyone can play.

If you are new to us, or only know part of our work, check out what we do and how we work with partners 👇

🎄 Happy Christmas from us all at Disability Sports Coach!

Thank you to each of our supporters, donors and partners for being by our side this year. Without you, we simply could not deliver our mission - to enhance the lives of disabled people through the power of sport.

We can't wait to continue our journey with you in 2026, as we work to break down barriers to sport - and life - for even more disabled people.

We will be back in the office on 2 January. In the meantime, we wish you all a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year ✨

🎉We did it!

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve reached our Christmas Appeal target and will keep creating spaces where disabled people can be active, make friends and feel truly included.

One supporter said, “I love Saturdays at Willesden Sports Centre. Thank you!”

That’s the impact your gifts make for people across London. People like Temi. He found sport hard as a child and felt pushed to the sidelines. Through our Community Clubs, he not only joined in, but went on to become a qualified coach. Temi now supports others to feel welcome and capable - and enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime Coin Toss experience earlier this year thanks to the Wimbledon Foundation!

Thank you for believing in inclusive sport.

And if you haven't had the chance to donate yet, it's not too late - the link is in the comments.

On International Day of Disabled Persons, we are highlighting the difference inclusive sport makes for our members.

Each week, children and adults join our Community Clubs to stay active, build friendships and feel valued.

Our Christmas Appeal supports this vital work. With demand rising, your donation can help someone feel connected during a time of year that can be incredibly lonely.

Please give what you can this Christmas.

This Christmas, can you support a disabled person who has been locked out of life? Your donation can help a disabled person feel part of their community this Christmas - all through the power of sport.

This Christmas, can you support a disabled person who has been locked out of life? Your donation can help a disabled person feel part of their community this Christmas - all through the power of sport.

Imagine the joy of scoring your first goal, the laughter of teammates cheering you on, and the confidence that comes from belonging. For many disabled people, these moments feel out of reach - until they find Disability Sports Coach.

Every week, our Community Clubs provide a safe, welcoming space where members can make friends, stay active, and feel valued.

But demand is growing. Just 1 in 4 disabled pupils take part in school sport. Families tell us how much our Community Club sessions mean - especially during the festive season when isolation can feel even harder.

Please give what you can this Christmas, and help create life-changing opportunities for disabled children and adults.

The link to give is in the comments.

Thank you.

Two students at King’s College London are feeling on top of the world after winning a Strictly Come Dancing competition – and raising over £1,000 for Disability Sports Coach.

Pedro Murciano and his dance partner Eva took to the stage on 31st October in front of 400 people. Competing against 24 other teams, they came out on top – a remarkable achievement considering Pedro had never danced before!

Pedro said, "We rehearsed like we were going to dance on national television! Once on stage, to hear 400 people cheering us on and literally screaming to our Latin dance while we were dressed as Prince Charming and Snow White was one of the best highlights of my year.

After winning, Pedro chose to donate the money raised to our charity.

Pedro said, "I explained to the crowd the values of what Disability Sports Coach does in London. Being able to support such meaningful community work has been such a rewarding experience.”

Thank you Pedro and team for your support. Keep dancing! 💃🕺

A brilliant new group of Inclusive Activity Leaders (IAL) has graduated!

Their confidence, skills and teamwork shone throughout, and they are now ready to bring inclusive sport to more schools, clubs and community spaces.

IAL brings disabled and non-disabled people together to train alongside each other to become fully qualified sports coaches. Our Leaders learn how to create welcoming environments where everyone can take part. Delivered in partnership Nike, all places are fully funded.

After months of study, mentoring and practice, our latest graduates were awarded their certificates - and celebrated with a well-earned slice or two of pizza!

Nike very generously gifted signed England team jerseys, won by two very happy Leaders.

Peter Ackred, CEO of Disability Sports Coach, said: "Every group arrives with different experiences and ambitions, and it is inspiring to see how quickly they grow together. When people train side by side, new confidence and leadership emerges. We look forward to seeing the difference this group will make."

We can't wait to support our newest group of Leaders as they begin their careers - and start enhancing lives.

Our Trustees play a vital role in shaping Disability Sports Coach - guiding our strategy, championing inclusion, and ensuring disabled people have genuine opportunities to take part in sport.

During hashtag , we’re celebrating their insight, leadership and commitment to our mission.

Vice Chair Sam Vardy sums up why inclusion in sport matters:
“Sport brings so much to people - physical exercise, mental wellbeing, and social interaction. Those benefits are equally as crucial for disabled people.”

Sam exemplifies his commitment by taking on multiple fundraising challenges, including the London Marathon and a 100 mile ultramarathon - raising over £3,500!

Thank you to all our Trustees for your expertise, dedication and belief in what we do.
