A few months ago, a student had a big breakthrough while I was teaching at a Ruth White Yoga Weekend at Hawkwood Education Centre. This student was honest, emotional, brave. We stepped outside to breathe and reset, and found ourselves beside this incredible redwood as the sun dropped behind the hills.

It reminded us:
• Feel your feet and let go of what’s weighing you down
• Stand steady in who you’re becoming
• Root yourself in what matters and keep growing up and out

“When we feel the ground beneath us, we remember we already belong.”

I spend so much time guiding the practice that I sometimes forget to notice the shifts in me and in the people in front of me. Then a moment like this comes along and makes it clear:

The shoulders drop.
The breath evens out.
We get our feet back under us.
Steadiness returns.

Yoga keeps teaching me how to live. To pay attention. To stay open. To trust that progress is happening even when we can’t see it yet.

Friday Morning Walk - Peace

Some days, the universe gives you a quiet sign to pause, a dove above, the river beside you, and a moment of calm lifted from the week.

This morning, I slowed my steps and lifted my gaze to that beautiful dove, a symbol of peace and hope. A gentle reminder that even when life feels full and fast, hope is always close… often just one breath away.

🕊️ Inhale peace. Exhale anything that weighs heavy.
Let your heart make space for hope today.

Thursday Morning Reset ☕🧘‍♀️

Coffee first… always.
And then, a moment to dive into the magic of science behind what we feel on the mat.

I love that yoga isn’t just ancient wisdom, it’s anatomy, physiology, breath, alignment, and the nervous system working together to lift us up, calm us down, and bring us home to ourselves.

Every stretch has a story.
Every breath has a purpose.
Every practice is a little dose of medicine.

Here’s to learning, moving, evolving - one mindful morning at a time. 💛

Wednesday Wisdom

This morning, the river taught me something quietly powerful…

Worry doesn’t change the tide.
It doesn’t speed the sunrise.
It can’t stop what’s meant to unfold.

And yet, we spend so much precious energy caught in the “what ifs” and “maybes.”

What if, just for today, we gave ourselves permission to stop wrestling with the future?

To soften the shoulders that carry too much.
To breathe into life as it is
To trust that life is unfolding with beauty in everything, only if we pause

Because worry is the most unproductive busywork of all.
And peace arrives the moment we’re brave enough to let go.

Inhale: I am here.
Exhale: This moment is enough.

Tuesday Pause

Some mornings gift you a moment that feels like a deep breath for the soul.
This was mine today: the Thames, a bare winter tree, and a quiet stillness that somehow lifted me.

If your week already feels too full, overwhelming, or a little wobbly,
take a moment to stand still, soften your shoulders, breathe in deeply, and let something go on the exhale.
I certainly need to, as life has been so hectic for so many months with never quite enough hours.

So I reminded myself today:
“You don’t have to fix everything. Just come back to your breath and ground yourself.”

🌅 Monday Morning Reflections — Amanda Fawcett Yoga

There’s something about a calm river at sunrise, the way the light softens everything it touches, the way the water keeps moving even when the world feels still.

Walking beside it in Henely this morning reminded me:
you can be busy and still be spacious,
you can be full and still be grounded,
you can be moving forward and still be at peace.

This week is a big one for me, lots happening behind the scenes and the final touches going onto my Yoga Teacher Training syllabus. It feels like both a mountain and a exciting. A long-held dream becoming real.

So if your Monday feels full too, take a breath with me:

✨ Inhale — I welcome what’s unfolding.
✨ Exhale — I trust I can hold it.

May today bring you clarity, steadiness, and one small moment of beauty that reminds you you’re exactly where you need to be.

No matter what yesterday held , the heaviness, the noise, the rushing, the “trying your best, the day begins again in light.
A soft reset. A breath. A moment to step back into yourself.

This morning, let the sunrise remind you that you don’t have to carry yesterday into today.
You can choose ease.
You can choose presence.

Sometimes nature whispers the lesson before we even step on the mat…
Slow down.
Breathe.
Settle into stillness.

These tiny frozen edges caught my eye on Daisy’s walk, a reminder that even in the coldest moments, there’s beauty, clarity and a quiet invitation to soften.

With snow forecast in London tomorrow, let this be your cue to pause, wrap up warm, and give your body the gentle kindness it needs.

Winter is the perfect season for nourishing movement, steady breath, and yoga that actually fits into everyday life. 🤍

✨ Monday Morning Yoga ✨

Up before the sun today, a 5am start to get my daughter back to boarding school, followed by a quiet, soul-soothing walk along the river in Henley.

There’s something about the cold air, the soft light and the simple act of putting one foot in front of the other that reminds me:
we can begin again at any moment.

If your week feels full… or heavy… or just a little blurry around the edges -
Come back to your breath.
Come back to your body.
Come back to the tiny moments that anchor us.

Here’s to a fresh Monday, early starts, warm hats, and choosing presence over perfection.
