This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate the inspiring women who make such a difference in care. 💜

We caught up with Nichola Proctor, Care Manager and Dementia Champion at The Good Care Group, to hear about her journey into care, what motivates her every day, and the advice she’d share with other women entering the sector.

With over a decade of experience in health and social care, Nichola is dedicated to delivering compassionate support for people living with dementia.

Below are some photos of Nichola throughout her career.

To celebrate World Kindness Day 💛, we’re sharing a little moment of joy. Our client LP had a lovely Valentine’s Day thanks to her carer, Shari, who went all out by cooking heart-shaped pasta and baking a Valentine’s-themed cake for them to enjoy together. Small acts of kindness make the biggest difference.

According to the British Heart Foundation, there are currently more than 8 million people living with heart or circulatory conditions in the UK.

While there are plenty of lifestyle changes you can make to decrease your risk for conditions like coronary heart disease, one lesser-known factor is the role that companionship can have in protecting our heart health.

That’s why, this Heart Month, we’re highlighting the positive impact that companionship care can have on our health. From staying connected to reducing stress and encouraging better nutrition, our new blog shows some of the ways companionship care can support heart health. ❤️

Our story

The Good Care Group was founded in the UK in 2009 with a vision of becoming the leading provider of high-quality home care services that enable people to continue to live comfortably in their homes for longer.

The Good Care Group delivers live-in care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Care is delivered in the homes of people ranging from those who can’t quite manage to look after themselves and need companionship, to those dealing with debilitating or serious health conditions and need assistance to live independently.

All professional carers are employed by us – we do not use agency staff. Our recruitment process for carers is rigorous and those who are selected receive market-leading training and on-going professional development to ensure the very highest standards of care.

We are leading the way in supporting those with specialist medical conditions, including dementia, Parkinson’s, MS and Motor Neurone disease, improving overall wellbeing and quality of life. Our service is fully managed, 24/7 and care is continually monitored by a dedicated team local to you that provides unrivalled support to clients and families. We are always striving to innovate our services, all of which are backed up by robust systems and processes that support the quality of care we deliver.
