In a supported living service providing 24-hour support within our group of homes. At Poppy Cottage we are proud of supporting adults with disabilities to give them the platform to leading independent lives. We help them to get the most out of life, with day to day activities such as planning meals and finances to accessing community activities and employment, as well as being there to listen. About our jobs.
* To support service users,
* Promote good practice, undertake medication duties, including administration and recording
* To be responsible for handling of service users finances in line with support plans.
* Support service users to maintain their home environment
* Participate in improving the quality of service experienced by the people we support.
About you:
* The ability to reflect on your own experiences and practice to build professional relationships with service users, family carers and other agencies in order to understand the needs and rights of each individual.
* Confident in the use of a computer to organise and record information clearly and accurately.
* Always aware of risks and how they can be minimised ensuring the health and safety of colleagues and the people you support.

Deputy Care Manager
Poppy Cottage Ltd you will lead a team, taking accountability for all operational aspects of the homes, focusing on areas such as recruitment, retention, budget management and rota planning. You will be responsible for the safety of all and you’ll motivate your team with ideas that keep the people we support engaged, fulfilled and happy. The sense of fun you’ll bring helps make things happen.
�Key Responsibilities of a Deputy Manager:
* Support the Registered Manager with the running of the home and deputise in their absence.
* Manage & supervise the preparation of Person-Centred Care Plans, Review & Assessments, implementing plans with the assistance of the care team.
* Provide leadership & advice to colleagues and undertake line management responsibilities
* Promote and demonstrate a positive culture, addressing and managing behaviours that fall below expectation.
* Contribute to and have oversight of reviewing reports, records and care plans to ensure they remain compliant with legal and organisational requirements.
* Manage systems and procedures effectively in a timely manner including colleague rotas and incident reporting.
* Assess and ensure the quality of care given is of a high standard by supporting the manager to implement processes.
* Identify and implement improvements within the service.
* Undertake direct care to the people we support as required.
* We will be looking for someone that has experience in HR and accounts.

�Key requirements a Deputy Manager must have:
* Must hold an NVQ Level 3, ideally hold or be working towards NVQ Level 5.
* Experience of leading & managing a team within a health care setting and experience of delivering care.
* Experience of administering medication.
* Knowledge and understanding of working with Mental Health needs.
* Understanding of safeguarding adults at risk, health & safety requirements related to running a care home and infection control.
* Understanding of the regulations and legislation within the care profession.
* Understanding of CQC, national minimum standards and key care principles

Responsibilities and Duties:
Social Activities - Accompanying people to appointments, day and activity centres, shopping and social events.
Practical Support - Domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, tidying, preparing and cooking meals and grocery shopping.
Personal Care - Help with getting up and getting ready for the day and settling in for the night, washing, bathing and toileting.

Part Time Accounts Assistant

Poppy Cottage Limited is a leading local Care company We are now looking for a permanent part time accounts and admin assistant to help our busy Finance Manager.
This is an office based vacancy and would suit someone who can work on their own initiative, with a high attention to detail and who would be keen to work in a busy environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

at least two years accounts experience in a busy office and used to working with Excel, Sage Accounts and Payroll although training can be given if necessary. You will also be expected to assist, as necessary, in office admin, answering telephones etc

You will need to do

Process purchase invoices and reconcile purchase ledger statements

Bank Reconciliation

Assist with Payroll and prepare spreadsheets for management

Check our Service Users Expenses on our dedicated Care Software (full training will be given) monthly, recharge bank expenses to individual Service Users, post bank entries and journals to Sage Accounts, prepare statements every six months for appointees, spot check finances and deal with any discrepancies when they arise and also deal with mileage and utility recharges.

The vacancy would be part time hours per week over two days initially but we do expect that this could increase in the future
