✨BAM 2025✨

Yesterday, I went to the BAM 2025 Conference in Chelmsford to hear about the latest developments in face and neck surgery. Taimur Shoaib who is a great Plastic Surgeon from Glasgow gave an excellent talk about closed rhinoplasty - one of my favourite procedures 👃⭐️

✨Chin Augmentation✨

Thank you to our lovely patient sending in your progress photos and letting us share your images. This photo is 3 months post op 🫶

A weak chin can be enhanced with a chin implant, which is often done under a local anaesthetic using a cut under the chin ⭐️

Having this done under a local anaesthetic allows our patients to make a decision about the degree of enhancement, based on sizers ⭐️

A sliding genioplasty can achieve more advancement and can also address overprojecting or wide chins. This is performed under a general anaesthetic using a cut inside the lower lip ⭐️

Simple bone projections can be rasped off. Dynamic chin ptosis (also commonly called “witches chin”) results from the chin moving downwards when smiling and can be addressed with a simple procedure under a local anaesthetic ⭐️

✨Face & neck lift surgery with gliding brow lift✨

This patient has wonderful natural results with this combined procedure. She has very kindly also shared some of her own images to show the improvement to her neck area ⭐️

These procedures together were done under a general anaesthetic as an overnight stay and took around 6 hours ✨

This surgery has a high satisfaction rate, as patients gain relief from back pain and can engage in more sport. ⭐️

This surgery is around 3 hours long, under a general anaesthetic. Our patient is only 10 weeks post op and still healing. The red scarring will improve over the next few months. ⭐️

This procedure is becoming increasingly more popular. We aim for a forehead height of 5.5cm - 6cm, which is considered ‘aesthetically pleasing’ for female patients. Time in theatre is around 90mins and it’s done under a general anaesthetic ⭐️
