Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 beginners postures
performed in a heated room. During the 90 minute session, each posture is designed to deliver total health through balancing and strengthening the body. It prevents illness and injury, promotes weight loss and limits the effects of aging. We are the first authorised Bikram Yoga Studio in Essex and it is our pledge to provide you with the best tuition in a caring environment where your efforts and time are well-spent.

Discover the power of discipline in Hot Yoga 🧘‍♂️✨
 
1️⃣ Fuel up smart: Eat at least 2 hours before class for optimal digestion
 
2️⃣ Hydrate well: Drink at least 500ml of water 2 hours before your session
 
3️⃣ Breathe deeply: Practice Pranayama — inhale through the nose, creating a gentle snoring sound
 
4️⃣ Acclimate to the heat: Arrive 30 minutes early to get used to the studio’s warmth. Our studio doors open 30 minutes before the class, giving you ample time to set your mat, prepare your mind and body, and get used to the 42°c heat
 
5️⃣ Take your time: No rush — whether you’re new or experienced, pace yourself

Pose of the Month – Savasana 🧘‍♂️✨

Savasana is not just lying down—it’s an essential posture that requires complete stillness and deep awareness. In Bikram Yoga, we practice Savasana between every floor posture, and this isn’t just for rest—it’s a crucial part of the practice.

After each intense posture, your heart rate is up, blood is flowing, and energy is moving. By lying completely still in Savasana, you allow your body to reset, recover, and integrate the benefits of the previous pose. Your circulation normalizes, your muscles release, and your nervous system gets a chance to rebalance before moving into the next posture.

How to Get the Most Out of Savasana

🧘‍♀️ Be still – No fidgeting! Let your body absorb the effects of the posture.
🌬 Focus on your breath – Breathe naturally and allow your body to soften with each exhale.
👀 Keep your eyes open – Until the final Savasana, keep your eyes open to stay present and engaged in the practice.
💛 Let go – Savasana is a moment of surrender—allow yourself to fully relax and receive its benefits.

Mastering Savasana is just as important as mastering any other pose. So next time you hit the mat, embrace the stillness, and feel the magic happen! ✨🔥

At Hot Yoga Essex you can enjoy three unique styles of Hot Yoga classes – Bikram Yoga, Inferno HIIT Pilates and Dynamic Vinyasa. All three styles of Yoga are practiced in 40 degrees heat with an average humidity of 40%. Classes are available seven days a week, with ample nearby parking. The classes are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Hot Yoga builds strength, flexibility, grace, balance and endurance. You will leave each class feeling cleansed and energised.
