In all my years as a health psychologist, I’ve noticed that people often minimise the emotional weight of chronic illness...
..because no one tells them they’re allowed to grieve the life they thought they’d be living.

But grief isn’t just about death.

It’s also about the loss of identity, freedom, structure, and connection.

This shows up in my clients as a deep, quiet sadness for:
👉The jobs they had to step away from.
👉The hobbies they once loved but can no longer manage.
