May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. In 2024, 17,500 people were diagnosed with skin cancer.

The NHS has advised public to take precautions ahead of the British summer heatwave.

The precautions are:

- Staying in the shade
- Using at least SPF 30
- Covering up when in direct sunlight.

SAH helps fight this by offering efficient care with routine or urgent 2WW referrals, working to decrease delays in diagnosis or treatment.
