I’ve been quiet for a little while! I’ve known for some time that the whole social media circus is draining me. The short-lived nature of it all, the fact that everything is geared towards reduced attention span and the lack of authenticity don’t really align with what I want people to learn and realise about themselves and their bodies.
So it was a real pleasure to have a real, long conversation with from .world on their podcast🙂
Head over to the link in my bio or search WeMove podcast on Spotify, Apple or YouTube.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how I can still get the word out to people in order to plant some seeds of hope without succumbing to the 10 second algorithms…because that is what is so important to me: to make people realise that there IS a way forward, even if they’ve been struggling for 10, 15 or even 40 years.
Some experimenting to come in the next few weeks🙏

For anyone with movement limitations or pain, a clear framework is useful to know what they really need. Oftentimes we just don’t know because we lack structure in our attempt to resolve it. But with a structure, anyone can become the owner, the expert, of the body that they’re living in 💡🗒️

So many people tell me about their weekly or monthly massages, acupucture, adjustments/cracks or other treatments that they’ve been receiving for years.

Whilst providing useful (sometimes neccessary) temporary relief,
many people know that it’s only a matter of time until the problem will have “walked itself back in”.
That just shows that whatever has been done does not actually address what truly needs to be addressed.

Imagine you yourself could work with your body in a way that makes you understand what you actually need, giving you something that brings back balance and comfort - knowledge and tools that are yours for a lifetime.
That’s what Lucie (the testimonial) got from our work. And that’s what I was missing when I was in pain. That’s what I want to give people: Power to create the change that they’re looking for.

As a side note…if someone receives the same (passive?) treatment without getting insights or tools that promote change long-term, I think it’s fair to ask whether the treatment is in the person’s, or the practitioner’s interest…

Find the floor again by moving the 52 bones in your feet 👣❤️ You’ll feel the difference 😉

Getting feet back on the floor and bringing back their movement has the potential to help with pretty much anything up the chain.
If you want to get started right away you should check out ‘s programme Wake Your Feet Up.

It’s been a while since my last post! I’m settling in, exploring and finding my rhythm, so I’ll be back on the gram with what I hope is useful content🕵️‍♂️💡
I started this work as a result of solving my own puzzle of pain…I want to teach a way of thinking. A way of exploring, understanding and restoring.

Pain is not the problem. Pain is just telling you that there is a problem.
More often than not, that problem is very different to what we think it is.

Knowing where and how to find it may take time. But the one who can find it, the one who can dig deep enough if neccessary, the one who can then connect the dots and draw the right conclusions, that’s you. No one else. Take back that control.

When I jumped onto the Zoom call for our second session I said that his feet looked quite different to me… He said “yes!”, and that he couldn’t believe that after our session his feet were pointing straight when he went for a walk.😄

Feet that are turned out are a solution that the body finds to overcome “something”. For example, if you took someone’s feet and turned them straight, you might find that these feet don’t actually have a lot of contact with the floor. Turning feet like that straight, would therefore won’t just reduce the base of support that the feet provide. It will probably also feel pretty awful around the hips and/or lower back🙈

Turning them out is a really clever way that the body finds in order to create a bigger surface on the floor as well as to overcome limitations for example around the hips or back…It really is quite genius, but we quickly label it as a “dysfunction”…😕
That word couldn’t be further from the truth. Turning these feet out is SUPER functional.

Turned out (or turning out) feet tell us something. So let’s first of all be okay with them and appreciate that they are a not a problem, but a solution.
We don’t just want to blindly take away that solution, we want to understand how it might be helping the body.
Then, we can use movement to re-educate the system about its potential of a larger, more stable and more adaptable base of support that allows easy, less effortful and more efficient movement all the way up the chain.
Once we re-organise those relationships, the body will naturally turn them straight without any conscious effort.

Note that he did do his homework between our sessions. This wasn’t a one-off miracle…Change takes time and effort.🤫
And if you look at the feet it’s evident that there’s more work to be done, but it highlights nicely that if we put the right input (movement) into the body, it will start to balance things out, even if - like his feet - “it’s always been like that”… 🙃

After almost 10 years in London it’s time for a change of scenery! We’re leaving ☺️

For the next 2 weeks we’ll spend some time with family before a new adventure awaits…different culture, different language, different climate and environment🇫🇷☀️🏔🇷🇪 I can’t wait!!

Of course, I’ll continue working as I have been 👨‍💻
If the pandemic has shown one thing it’s that physical distance does not get in the way of anyone’s ability to learn, move, question, grow and heal.
Working with people all over the world over the last few years has allowed me to re-evaluate where I/we want to be while doing this work that I love so much and that gives me so much energy. London however has been taking that energy from me more and more, and that’s why it’s time for a change 😊

You can easily get quite uncomfortable in your comfort, sometimes without even realising. I think many people can relate to that...
That’s partly why we’re leaving.
Unless we realise when that’s the case and unless we explore what else there is, the discomfort will only grow. Explore your options, explore what you don’t know or what you’ve maybe forgotten. In your body, your mind, your life.
That’s the essence of what I teach in my work…people who work with me for long enough know that it goes way beyond the physical body😉

So maybe ask yourself, what comfort zone have you, potentially unconsciously, chosen (ended up in?) that is actually creating a lot of discomfort?

I’ll keep you posted when I’ve settled in 😃
Thank you London and everyone that I got to meet here 🤗❤️
Here’s to a sunnier future!

Transformation time!🤩 not perfect yet, but the results so far speak for themselves 😊

3 weeks ago her shoulder was, as she described it, “locking” - what you see were her end ranges…all extremely limited and causing pain. All “after” pictures are pain-free.

Rather than mindlessly stretching, pulling on bands, or worse, having surgery as is sometimes suggested, we took a step back and approached it through the lens of Anatomy in Motion and The Flow Motion Model by .

Most importantly however, it was HER dedication and curiosity that now allow her to carry out daily tasks again⭐️.
But we’re not finished yet. We’re gonna get her climbing 😏

When I say “her” dedication, I truly mean it…All this was done by herself through movement, not by me. No hands-on treatment..and no knives 😊

👣 We have 2 feet that hold one pelvis and one spine above (also one skull!)
One foot moving differently to the other will always have an impact on these structures above…See this feedback from an online client in the US🇺🇸💻 🙂

The part that I love is that he feels his body is relaxing… Could it be that the body has been constantly bracing in order to try and create a sense of stability that a previously injured ankle may not be providing?

Often, that’s why things may tense up again only a few minutes after doing a stretch…sounds familiar? That’s because nothing has changed - the body still relies on the same strategies in order to overcome whatever it needs to overcome…this could be anything and anywhere, in my client’s case it was an inability to move the rearfoot of his left foot.

Find out what it is, bring that back and there’s no more need to overcome anything 😊

Take an inventory, which of these could be an opportunity? Which one may have been neglected or is missing the most?

Interestingly, each one has an influence on the others♻️🌀
Maybe you can’t sleep because of the others. Maybe you struggle with the others because you can’t sleep…

Where to start? Everywhere ☺️

Some people are still surprised when I tell them that I work online. But movement doesn’t lie: It either is happening or it isn’t - we can see it and feel it.

Even without knowing that there is a long history of injuries up and down her right leg…movement eventually presents that history without asking😊

If you understand how one part relates to another and how that relates to your problems, you can get back in the driver’s seat and address any issue which may have been bothering you - even when you’re 1,300km away from me, like her 🌎💻

We didn’t go after the parts where she felt discomfort here. We almost never do. She had tried the back stretches…
The culprits were the quiet ones. They are the ones that we want to get back into the team 😊

(Lots more to see in that video that I don’t go into here)

I love it when things click 😊🤣

Pain is telling you that something’s not right. But it might not tell you what it is. It MAY be the fact that you’re not moving, or how you’re moving.
But it may be the fact that nothing is moves you…

(PS, we looked for more “evidence” in this person’s life that sitting is actually alright and that other factors seem to be the common denominator)

Evaluating your life like this will lead to transformations that no desk can do for you.

Lovely case this morning showcasing how smart our bodies really are.
When something doesn’t feel or look right, ask: “How does it serve me?”. Keep asking until you find the answer.
Appreciate that it’s probably doing it for a very good reason ⚖️

And another post about that heel :)
When there is one of these bumps on the back of the heel, more often than not I see that the heel is not doing the movements that I talked about in my previous posts.

Wolff’s law: A bone will adapt to the loads under which it is placed.

Davis’ law: Soft tissues adapt/heal according to the manner in which they are mechanically stressed.

If there’s a a little extra growth, it tells us that this is an area that experiences a fair amount of stress.
It’s not bad or dangerous to have these bumps - it is simply the body’s way of dealing with the extra load. It’s clever and nicely shows our high adaptability - but we might want to ask what’s going on down there 🕵️‍♂️
(Watch my last post for the breakdown)

These are the little clues that I look for in my client’s bodies. They may guide us to something important 🌀⚖️

Clip from a session with a client breaking down his calf and achilles problems after our assessment findings.

This builds on my previous post and relates it to just one possible issue if the foot itself is unable to move.

(And yes, when I say lowest attachment point of the calf, I am talking about the achilles tendon 😉)
