North London Hospice Every year North London Hospice provides specialist end-of-life support to more than 3,500 patients

North London Hospice is a registered charity that has been caring for local people since 1984. We help those with a potentially life-limiting illness who have specialist needs. We welcome people from all faiths and communities within the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey offering physical, emotional and spiritual care. We are now also able to offer some of our services to people within Camden and Islington.

At North London Hospice, physiotherapy begins with a simple but powerful question: “What is important to you and what would you like to do that you’re finding difficult?” That single sentence shifts the focus away from illness and limitation and towards what truly matters to the person in front of us. It might be walking into the garden to feel the air on their face, having the strength to watch television with family, or finding ways to manage fatigue so the day feels more theirs again.

“Our role isn’t to tell people what they should be able to do,” explained our Highly Specialised Physiotherapy Gareth. “When someone realises they can still do something that matters to them, you can see the difference immediately. That’s what I love most about my job and when physiotherapy becomes about living, not just coping.”

Inspired by the continued success of our Forever In Our Hearts display, North London Hospice is proud to introduce Butterfly Reflections 🦋

For a donation, you can dedicate a handcrafted stainless steel butterfly in memory of someone special.

In June 2026, a breathtaking kaleidoscope of butterflies will be displayed in the peaceful gardens of West Lodge Park. We hope that visiting the Butterfly Reflections garden will bring you a moment of comfort and calm this summer. After the display, your butterfly will be yours to keep forever. Thank you to West Lodge Park for your support.💙

With Easter right around the corner, we have been fortunate to receive some incredible donations from our local community.

A very big thank you to the pupils, parents and teachers of Finchley Catholic High School, who very kindly donated over 100 Easter eggs to the hospice. It was a delight to welcome some of the pupils last week as they delivered the eggs.

We would also like to say a big thank you to Nishma Patel from Temple SKSST Kenton Harrow, who also delivered an abundance of Easter eggs this week for patients and their families.

Thank you all for this kind, thoughtful gesture!

OmvedGardens are delighted to be hosting an open day fundraiser for us on Sunday 19 April from 11am-3pm.

The day will be a chance to wander through the gardens and relax with a cup of chai and a slice of cake, all while supporting the vital work of the hospice.

You are invited to explore the gardens at your own pace, or join one of their guided tours, with either Omved's Resident-Ecologist, or one of their gardeners, alongside other members of the team.

They will also have a raffle with an exciting range of gifts from their gardens & other neighbours. Raffle tickets will be available on site at OmVed.

March highlights at North London Hospice 💙

This month saw the return of Big Fun Craft and our wonderful volunteer Mary hosted a Danish Star workshop for supporters. Our shops celebrated St Patrick’s Day, World Book Day and Sustainable Fashion Week with vibrant window displays.

We hosted a Big Fun Walk t-shirt packing day for our corporate supporters, a very big thank you to our corporates for joining us. And, we visited the beautiful West Lodge Park ahead of this year’s Butterfly Reflections event. There’s still time to order your butterfly to be featured in our display this June.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this month!

We want to send a massive thank you to David Astburys for organising Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Market at St Judes on the Hill church last December.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and festive spirit, an amazing £677.88 was raised. What a fantastic result!

We would also like to give a special shoutout to the brilliant students from Woodhouse College who volunteered their time and energy to run the face painting stand. You brought so much colour, joy, and sparkle to the day, thank you!

North London Hospice

We provide specialist end-of-life care, free of charge, to people living in the London boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey both within the Hospice and in their own homes.

It costs over £10 million to run the Hospice for a year. The NHS only funds 40% of this which is why we need your support to help us meet the remaining 60%.
