** Souls and Cars **
A few days ago I woke up with an analogy in mind of how we are sometimes a bit like cars – some days we run well and smoothly, then on others we are a bit clunky and slow and on others we might even get a puncture or a chip on our windscreen. I notice that when we have issues with our car – we take it to our local garage to be mended and yet we wouldn’t think to do it for ourselves – isn’t that interesting? How many of us take the time to get a massage for aching limbs or take time to get help for broken hearts, behaviours that seem to rear their heads at the strangest times or when we feel like our wheels are wonky. It got me thinking about how little value we seem to put on our soul and our own wellbeing sometimes. We soldier on with our faulty spark plugs and dings in our body armour and wonder why things feel off. This is exactly what I love about the work that I do. My clients come to me when they are feeling weighed down, fed up, dissatisfied, judged, unheard, angry, frustrated, unloved, have wonky wheels and dents in their view of themselves and I am delighted that they have come as we get to change all of that. It is the most rewarding work in the world. Working with someone today who had had 10 years of heartache over a job that was lost – who had allowed lies to tarnish her souls paintwork and made her feel like she was unworthy of an abundant and happy life – left today with so much hope and light and excitement for what she can achieve as she got to recognise that she is incredible and strong and worthy of love and a fulfilling life is beyond joyful for me. By working on the d***s and clunks in my past I have been lucky enough to find the most amazing job in the world – helping others to find their shine.
