Over eight generations, Leverton and Sons has provided comfort, support and professional guidance to the bereaved. We deliver a high standard of care and service to every individual or family who comes to us. Eco-friendly arrangements have been part of our service for many years. We tailor the funeral to the person who has died. Our team of funeral directors, drivers and bearers have decades of ex

perience between them. Many people are unsure about who should lead the ceremony for them. We will use our experience to find the right person for you and the person who has died. Listening carefully to the bereaved and honouring the wishes of the person who has died is probably our greatest strength.

The importance of saying goodbye.

This SAIF video shares an unscripted interview with a daughter whose mother chose an unattended funeral without discussing the details with her children. It offers a raw, honest look at the emotional reality left behind when a funeral service is removed from the grieving process. We offer direct cremations along with all funeral services, but we encourage clients to talk through all of the options available and have these conversations with loved ones where possible.

We understand the importance of honouring your loved ones. That's why we offer online tributes in association with MuchLoved, a special social enterprise that holds a significant place in our hearts.

Through our tribute pages, you can view service details, make donations, leave messages for the family, light a candle, or share a picture. Creating a tribute is completely free and will be hosted online for as long as you choose, with no cost or obligation.

Meet the Team Monday!

Meet Michael, who joined Levertons in 1985 as a Funeral Assistant based at our Chalk Farm branch.

After a few years he left to travel around Australia, and after returning and working for another funeral director, came back to Levertons, helping at our Hendon branch part time as a Funeral Director. Since then he moved to be based at Head Office where he has since worked full time looking after the Camden community. Born and bred in Camden he has enjoyed helping his local community and is very much liked by them.

Outside of work, Mike likes cycling and time with his family!

It’s important to remember that our pets can feel the loss of a family member just as deeply as we do. Whether it’s a human companion or another pet, they may experience grief in their own way - becoming withdrawn, losing interest in play, or showing signs of anxiety.

Here’s how you can support them through this difficult time:

🐾 Maintain Routine – Keeping their feeding, walking, and sleeping schedule consistent can provide comfort and stability.
🐾 Offer Extra Reassurance – More cuddles, gentle words, and quality time can help them feel safe and supported.
🐾 Encourage Play & Exercise – Engaging activities can help lift their spirits and reduce stress.
🐾 Watch for Changes – If your pet shows prolonged signs of distress, seeking advice from a vet or animal behaviorist may help.
🐾 Give Them Time – Just like us, pets grieve in their own way and at their own pace. Patience and understanding go a long way.

Losing a loved one is hard on the whole family, and that includes our four-legged friends. 🖤

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to work as an embalmer? In this interview, we speak with our very own Lesley Rogers MBIE Dip, who shares her journey into embalming, the challenges and rewards of the role, and why she feels honoured to do it.

Behind the scenes, our embalmers carry a unique responsibility: caring for the deceased with dignity and respect, and helping families spend precious final moments with their loved ones.

This year, we’re proud to celebrate 30 years of dedication from our Director, Pippa Leverton.

In a new interview, Pippa reflects on her journey - from childhood memories of the family business to becoming one of the first female funeral directors in London, and the changes she has seen over three decades of serving families.

“It’s a privilege to be welcomed into people’s lives at one of their hardest moments.”

We’re honoured to mark this milestone and grateful for Pippa’s continued leadership, dedication and care.

What’s a common misconception about supporting someone bereaved by su***de?

That grief has a time limit, and that after a few months, survivors should be “moving on.”

But the truth is, there’s no clock on grief. Everyone’s journey looks different. Some days might feel lighter, others unexpectedly heavy, and both are normal.

For many, loss will always be part of their story. Not something that defines them, but something that has shaped them 💜

Our funeral director Kathryn rode pillion last week to accompany the late Bruce Jon Fielding on his final journey.

He was a great lover of motorbikes and classic cars and lived life to the full. Since 1789 we have listened carefully to our clients, personalising each and every funeral to honour the bereaved 💚
