We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about elderly care and delivering a high standard of activities and reminiscence to our residents.
Here at St Judes Nursing Home we strive to provide a person centered program of activities for each individual either on a one - one or group setting. Our activities department ensure that detailed records will be kept on the activities which should incorporate the following areas: -
a) Occupational Therapy, e.g. Home based domestic activities, assisting tidying, reminiscence in bedrooms
b) Social Activities, e.g. Concerts, parties, bingo, outings and other activities that encourage social interaction.
c) Creative Therapy, e.g. Crafts, sewing, painting, baking, gardening etc.
d) Daily Living Activities, e.g. Self-care, make up, hairdressing etc.
e) Reality Orientation, e.g. Signs and clues within the home environment, current affairs and news discussions, communication from staff etc.
f) Keep Fit Activities, e.g. Musical movement, ball games etc.
g) Small Group Activities, e.g. Board games, quizzes etc.
h) Leisure and Free Time, e.g. ensuring that service users have ample opportunity for their own free time.
This position will be well supported with training where necessary however, we will be looking for someone who not only is kind and caring but has the energy and enthusiasm to bring to life the activities within the home.
Job Type: Part-time Two days a week (6 hours per day)
