Victoria Elizabeth Yoga My name is Victoria and ​I am a certified yoga teacher with 5 years teaching experience I offer group and private yoga classes in Essex & London. Yoga for all!

After being trained in Goa - India, I am now sharing my passion and love for yoga with others. Yoga simply means union, the coming together of the mind and body, through breath. It is a physical and mental practice that originated in ancient India. An effective way to increase your strength and flexibility, yoga calms and balances both your mind and body in order to boost your physical and mental wellbeing. Everyone is welcome – all ages & all levels.

SUMMER SPECIAL - FULL MOON YOGA NIDRA (Sleep Meditation)

Hello, Happy Summertime!

Summer has officially landed & It’s been a while since I’ve hosted an online session. Join me on this month's Full Moon, Wednesday, 13th July for a conscious sleep meditation. Its a great one for a hot summers day as all you need to do is get comfortable and listen.

During the full moon, emotions are generally heightened. Many of us have disruptive sleep patterns & have trouble calming a busy mind. This session will be a great chance to slow down & bring awareness to your body, allowing you to unwind, ground and calm the mind to send your body into a restful nights sleep.

Beginners are most welcome. This type of meditation is a great place to start.

32 trips around the sun 🌞. Here are some things I’ve learned in the past and need to do more of in the future ✌🏼-

1. Protecting your energy is so important! Be conscious of what and who you are giving your energy to. Ask yourself, is it worth it? Can you use this energy in a more productive, healthy way?

2. Don’t respond from emotion. When we do this, we sometimes say things we don’t mean or it’s not a logical response. Time is important here. Ask yourself - can you give yourself time to process this information to understand how you truly feel? Will you feel different tomorrow?

2. You are the creator of your reality. Every day can be a fresh start!

3. Awareness!!

4. Be in nature. It really does heal.

5. Awareness of nature. This is the most mindful thing I have ever done! Foraging and learning about plants is incredible & you witness the most intricate complexity of nature through the change in seasons. There is no room for other thoughts.

6. It’s okay to feel lost & empty. We are continuing to navigate through an intense time. Talk to people you trust, (even the ‘strangers’ on your social media!), move, meditate & go out in NATURE. You aren’t alone.

7. Compassion - as above, it’s what we need more than ever!

Come and get cosy from the comfort of your own home & join me for a guided conscious sleep meditation. As we move towards the full moon, energy levels tend to be heightened, creating feelings of overstimulation and overwhelm finding it hard to switch off. Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep ) is an excellent technique to settle the noise of the mind, calming the nervous system aswell as releasing tension from the physical body. It is a practice of shifting your external awareness, reason, time and space - to move into the inner word within you where they don't exist. This state of deep conscious relaxation is perfect for healing as brain activity reduces. This session is suitable for everyone, including beginners!

Hello!

I’m sad to say that I’ve made the decision to let go of my Wednesday classes ☹️. I’ve ran this class for nearly 4 years which I’m so grateful for - I thought I’d share some photos 🥰.

From Campion, to zoom, to yoga in the park & then to a new hall - I truly thank you for coming along to past classes (even if it was just the one!) & supporting my small business. It has meant so much to me to share yoga with you & to meet some wonderful humans!

You can, however, still find me on Sunday mornings!

Wednesday classes will be resuming tomorrow! 1st September at 7 - 8pm at St Johns Hall, Southend Road, Hornchurch, Essex (in-person or on the screen)! 💻

If you have attended sessions in the past and are interested in returning, please do get in touch. If you aren’t thinking of returning but have any feedback for me I would love to hear from you too! It would be super helpful to know what works and what doesn’t going forward, to understand if I'll be able to continue hosting these sessions.

Lastly, if you have any passes remaining from before classes were suspended, I will happily add these back onto your account!

Restorative bedtime yoga - trial class starts tonight at 8pm 🛌 🤍.
If you are looking to really chill out and unwind then this session is definitely for you! This style of practice will focus on slowing down and stretching out the body whilst consciously listening to inner sensations as they arise. We’ll be holding poses for longer periods of time with the assistance of props. By using the power of your breath, you are able to go connect and go deeper whilst expanding your innermost awareness. Bring your bolster (or rolled up thick blanket), block (or thick book), eye pillow (or eye mask), yoga strap (or dressing gown belt) & incense to this session and create the most perfect blissful sanctuary in your home, pyjamas are most welcome! A divine way to end your day and prepare your body & mind for sleep - embrace the power of rest! 🌕

As we continue to move through these difficult times I feel that there is more conflict than ever 💔. There is a lot of blame & chaos around what the right thing to do is moving forward. I feel and have experienced that these conflicts aren’t helpful as they create more divide.
Take a moment to think about how you may approach difficult or tense conversations. Are they with openness and compassion or are they with hate and anger? Are you truly listening to the other person? What is their situation? Their reality may be a lot different from yours, even if they seem to be full of hate we must find compassion for them even if that means leaving them be 💛. This isn’t always easy. What’s important is to understand that it can’t be our job to change peoples minds, planting seeds is much more helpful but this has to come from a place of love & compassion. It’s the only way to move forward & find peace.
From my heart to yours I would like to offer a FREE meditation session based on the theme of compassion live through Instagram next Monday evening, 11th January at 8.00pm. If you feel called to this then I would love for you to join me. It would be amazing if you could share & spread this to your family & friends who may feel this would be helpful. This year has really shown me that getting caught up in external chaos only creates internal chaos & more often than not it doesn’t change the external, it only weakens the internal. My ego loves having control, loves fighting for what I feel is right & has a hard time accepting things that I can’t control.
One thing I keep reminding myself of is that everyone is doing what they think is right, their perception is the truth, to them. We must find acceptance & compassion. There can be peace & calm amidst the turmoil.
2020 has been a weird one but I’m thankful for the lessons I’ve learned and experiences I’ve gained. I’m grateful for having a home, food to eat and support from other humans. Everything will be okay 🌙

If you are like me there’s nothing like being guided into this position after a strong fiery practice! It brings me to instant calmness & makes me feel so nurtured. Did you know that this position is great for your digestion as it gives your organs a gentle massage and gets everything flowing 💆‍♀️. It’s also a lovely pose to open up the hips, the tops of the feet & the spine.
If you are looking to cultivate a little more rest in your life, take 5 - 10 minutes (or half hour 😅) in this position and really bring your attention to your breath. Feel the tension leave your physical body. Feel the mind clearing & body resting. Do you love child’s pose? Do you have other postures that you like to use to rest? Let me know your favourites! ✨
