Ayurveda consists of three lifestyle approaches to taking care of yourself.
These are SATVIC, TAMAS and RAJAS.
What is Satvic?
Satvic means giving nutrition that delivers pure life essence from well-balanced food, which delivers calmness, happiness, love and clarity.
Satvic food is based on light and easy-digestable food, which doesn't result in bloating or stomach discomfort. Specifically, food made with love and happiness that makes you feel loved, happy, calm and clear from within.
• Nuts, seeds, whole grains, legumes, fresh fruit, vegetables, plant-based food, milk, cheese, sprouts.
What is Tamas?
Tamas lifestyle and foods can create feelings of dullness, passivity and unwillingness in ourselves. Tamas is experienced as a pull of matter and can feel like attachments or a downward flow of energy along the spine. It can make you feel darkness and stagnation, and when your Prana, or chi life force, drops further the Rajas energy can turn you towards a dominanting personality.
• Red meat, frozen meat, processed food or foods with chemicals and additives, fast food, reheated food
• Alcohols or addictive things like ci******es or drugs
• Over-eating Any processed food or drinks
What is Rajas?
A Rajas lifestyle can make you very energetic, bold and goal-oriented but also harsh and aggressive when it comes to achieving your life objectives. It can make you future-oriented but also self-centred and make it difficult to show true feelings. Rajasic foods create movement and can stimulate desire but also nervous energy.
• Frozen food, meat, sweets, high-protein food, garlic, onion, coffee, coke, protein shakes and processed food or drinks
