Meet our experts:

Professor Silvana Perretta is a Professor of Surgery at University of Strasbourg, Director of Education at IHU-Strasbourg and Chief of Foregut & Advanced GI Endoscopy. A pioneer of NOTES and hybrid robotics with numerous patents and 140+ publications, she has created multiple global programmes, and was the first woman to receive the 2025 SAGES Pioneer in Surgical Endoscopy Award.

Dr Evangelos Mazomenos is an Associate Professor in Medical and at the Hawks Institute, . He advances computer-vision and multimodal-AI techniques for workflow analysis, semantic segmentation, and skill assessment in robot-assisted surgery. As Principal Investigator on a >£1 million EPSRC project, his 100+ peer-reviewed publications are defining the future of AI-powered surgical education.

Mr Justin Collins is an Associate Professor of Surgery at UCL and a Consultant Urological Surgeon at . Internationally recognised for research into objective skills assessment and proficiency-based progression curricula, he has delivered 250+ invited lectures and authored 100+ peer-reviewed papers. His role as steering committee chair for the 2022 European consensus on ethical AI application demonstrates his leadership in responsible .
