Somatic Therapies: Somatic Movement, Craniosacral Therapy and Pilates in N1 Angel & E17 Walthamstow, London UK My name is Katsura Isobe.

I am a Somatic Movement educator & therapist, Craniosacral therapist and Pilates teacher based in Islington, London. While we all love to live our lives to the full, sometimes we notice knots and pains physically and/or emotionally that stop us doing so. How can we untangle the knots, release the pains and regain the flow? Our bodies are intimately united with the mind, emotions and spirit. How do we feel good about ourselves as integrated whole persons? Create time and space for yourself to breathe, feel and heal. I would be grateful to facilitate the journey you are going on.

I am grateful for the opportunity to teach Authentic Movement to the dance students at Ochanomizu University. I graduated there 28 years ago, and meeting these students reminds me of my days there. How far I have travelled since then, mentally, emotionally and physically.

And yet I have the feeling of circling back. Perhaps it is about returning and giving something back to the next generation. Maybe it is about recycling myself to become another version of me.

Either way, it is about growth. And I am happy to take part in the upward spirals.

Authentic Movement in Aylsham, Norfolk

While I hold a monthly ongoing group for those with previous experience, I offer a workshop for those new to this practice twice a year or so.

It is a great place to taste and step into Authentic Movement. It will be a small group of up to 8 participants.

‘Trusting the space with the group’
is the sentence I came up with at the closing of today’s workshop ‘Cultivating the Embodied Awareness with Authentic Movement’, a postgrad CPD course offered by Craniosacral Therapy Association

Thank you to each of the 16 participants and the assistant. With your being and moving, you created such a nourishing and potent relational field. I felt so nourished, immersed in it.

I always feel in a group workshop that a big part of my role as a facilitator is to touch the wisdom each of them and the collective already has. To turn it felt, heard and seen.

My experience today absolutely felt like that.

I received a lot today—an affirmation of trust in our bodies, processes, and therapeutic practices, which are rooted in care and compassion.

I'll carry this warm heart to tomorrow.

My fascination with the body, movement and its expression has been originally cultivated in dance, where I have trained, studied and worked professionally for nearly three decades. As I gained more insights, my curiosity kept growing beyond dance and expanded into anatomical & physiological, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of us humans. This journey took me to study and practice in Pilates, Somatic Movement Practice and Craniosacral Therapy.
