🌟 Japanese research just revealed an incredible gut–tumour immune link — and it could change how we think about immunity forever.
Scientists at Meiji Holdings and Juntendo University discovered that R-1 EPS (an exo-polysaccharide produced by a proprietary strain of lactic acid bacteria) activates special T-cells right in the gut. These “gut-educated” T-cells can migrate to tumours, turn “cold” tumours “hot”, and boost the power of existing immunotherapies.
The gut isn’t just about digestion — it’s a hidden reservoir of immune power that can influence cancer outcomes.
At Skin & Nutrition, our Gut Microbiome Test gives you a complete picture of your unique microbial ecosystem — so you can take targeted steps to support the exact bacteria and metabolites that drive systemic immunity and whole-body health.
Your gut could be holding the key to stronger immunity. Ready to find out?

đź«€ Inflammation: The hidden fire behind heart disease
Cholesterol gets all the attention, but chronic inflammation is equally dangerous. It makes artery plaque unstable → raising risk of heart attacks & strokes.
Nearly half of all heart attacks happen in people with no classic risk factors.

🔬 Science just proved what we’ve been saying at Skin & Nutrition Clinic for years:Stress directly hijacks your skin’s immunity and triggers eczema flare-ups.
A brand-new study published in Science has finally mapped the exact neurons that translate psychological stress into biological chaos — activating immune cells (eosinophils) that flood the skin and worsen that relentless itch and inflammation in atopic dermatitis.
We’ve always treated eczema as a stress-immunity-skin issue, not just a surface problem. While others focused only on creams, we’ve been building real resilience through targeted nutrition, stress-regulation protocols, and holistic skin support — because the brain-skin axis is real.
Now the research backs us 100 %.
If stress is turning your skin against you, it’s time to fight back from the inside out.

🧠 Gut health just became your brain’s new best friend – and this could change how we age! 🔥
Ever feel like your memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be? Forget “it’s just aging” – a brand-new 2026 Nature study reveals the surprising culprit might be hiding in your intestines!
As we get older, certain bacteria in the gut (like one called Parabacteroides goldsteinii) multiply and pump out specific fatty acids. These trigger inflammation in your immune cells, which then blocks the vital “gut-to-brain hotline” (the vagus nerve). Your brain’s memory centre (the hippocampus) stops getting clear signals, and suddenly remembering names, words, or where you put your keys gets harder.
The cool part? Scientists reversed it in older mice by:
• Using special viruses (phages) to zap the trouble-making bacteria
• Blocking the inflammation signal (GPR84)
• Simply turning the vagus nerve back on
Result: memory improved dramatically!
This is huge news – it means gut-brain communication could be the key to keeping your mind young. The researchers even coined a fun word: “interoceptomimetics” – basically helpers that boost those gut signals to protect your brain.
If you care about staying mentally sharp, glowing skin, and feeling your best at any age, this research is a game-changer. Your microbiome isn’t just about digestion – it’s talking directly to your brain every single day!

Here’s a fascinating breakthrough for anyone dealing with or interested in peanut allergies!
New research shows that certain bacteria naturally living in our mouth (saliva) and small intestine can actually break down the peanut proteins (like Ara h 1 and Ara h 2) that trigger severe, life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).
The star player? Rothia bacteria (including Rothia dentocariosa). In mouse studies, when researchers colonized allergic mice with these bacteria, the animals experienced much milder reactions to peanuts compared to those without them.
Even more exciting: In people with peanut allergies, those who naturally have more of these peanut-degrading bacteria (especially Rothia) tend to tolerate higher amounts of peanut before reacting severely. It’s like having built-in “allergy fighters” in your microbiome!
This suggests our gut and oral microbes play a bigger role in food allergy severity than we thought — and could open doors to future microbiome-based therapies or ways to boost tolerance.
Mind-blowing how the tiny bugs in our body might hold the key to safer lives for millions with peanut allergies! 🌰🦠
What do you think — could probiotics or microbiome tweaks be the next big thing in allergy treatment?

Ever wondered why that glass of red wine after dinner leaves you with a pounding headache, while white wine doesn’t? 🍷🤕
Scientists point to quercetin, a flavonoid packed in red wine grapes (and many fruits/veggies). It’s usually a hero for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory perks, boosting health and even skin glow. But when mixed with alcohol, it can block liver enzymes, causing acetaldehyde buildup – hello, headaches, nausea, and flushing!
If this sounds like you, try low-quercetin reds or stick to whites. What’s your wine woe? Share below!

The article from Nature (published March 10, 2026) titled “Forget SkinTok: the real science of skincare and why it matters for your health” highlights how social media trends like push complex, often unproven routines and products—sometimes even harmful ones—while ignoring evidence-based basics. Dermatologists emphasize simple habits: gentle cleansing twice daily, moisturizing, daily sunscreen, avoiding harsh soaps/hot showers, and protecting your skin as a vital barrier for overall health (linked to immunity, infection prevention, and risks like melanoma from UV/tanning).
This aligns perfectly with what we’ve been teaching and practicing at Skin & Nutrition for over 20 years!
We’ve always focused on science-backed, straightforward approaches: nourishing your skin from the inside out through balanced nutrition, combined with gentle external care that respects your skin’s natural barrier—no endless 10-step routines, trendy hacks, or risky experiments needed.
Healthy skin isn’t about viral fads—it’s about consistent, evidence-based habits that support your whole-body wellness.
