Holistic refers to an approach that considers the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than focusing on specific parts or symptoms. It emphasises the interconnectedness of all aspects of life and seeks to promote overall well-being.

The concept of holistic health has roots in ancient healing traditions, such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which have been around for thousands of years. However, the term “holistic” as it’s used today gained popularity in the 20th century, particularly in the 1970s, as part of the broader movement towards natural and alternative medicine.
