Follow-Up Statement from Wadi Funeralcare
Following the distressing discovery of desecration at the Muslim burial section of Carpenders Park Cemetery, we were first alerted by a bereaved family whom we had recently supported in burying their loved one at the site. Their pain and anguish were deeply felt by all of us.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many individuals and organisations who responded swiftly and stood in solidarity with the affected families and our wider community.
In particular, we wish to thank:
β’ Brent Council, represented by its Mayor, Cllr Mohamed Butt, and Cllr Tariq Dar.
β’ Three Rivers District Council, especially Cllr Abbas Merali, Cllr Christopher Alley, and Gagan Mohindra MP.
β’ The Muslim Council of Britain, for standing firmly with us.
β’ Hertfordshire Police, including Inspector Will Rogers-Overy and Superintendent Sally Williams, for their attentive and compassionate response.
β’ The KSIMC of Stanmore, and Al-Akbar Foundation for their unwavering community support.
We remain in close contact with the families and local authorities and will continue to monitor the situation. We await an update from Hertfordshire Police with regards to the investigation. This incident has deeply shaken our community, but the swift response and shared outrage remind us of the strength we have when we stand together.
