Ian lost his job. He felt like he'd lost himself.

The pressure to provide. The silence. The isolation. It crept in slowly, then all at once.
Ian reached breaking point.

But he reached out.

Through Men's Minds Matter, Ian connected with a clinical psychologist who understood what he was carrying.

Today, he's back at work. Back to himself. Thriving.

Your story doesn't have to end at the hardest chapter.

Support is always available 🤝

Dads can suffer after birth too.

When people talk about postnatal depression, dads are often left out of the conversation.

But they can struggle too.

In fact, UK-facing research suggests around 5-10% of fathers experience depression during pregnancy or in the first year after birth.

That means a lot of men are quietly trying to cope with pressure, exhaustion, fear, disconnection and low mood while feeling like they have to stay strong for everyone else.

If this is you, you are not weak and you are not failing.
And if this sounds like a dad you know, check in.

Support is there. Speak to a GP, health visitor, or NHS mental health service. If help feels urgent, call NHS 111. If there is immediate danger, call 999.

Too many men feel like they have to deal with everything alone.

They don’t talk.
They don’t ask for help.
They just carry it… until it’s too much.

That’s why this matters.

You don’t have to carry it alone.
And neither does he.

You’ve probably felt at least one of these.
Maybe more than one.
Maybe all of them.

But instead of saying it out loud…
you kept it in.

Because that’s what men are taught to do.
Get on with it.
Push through.
Don’t show weakness.

But holding it all in doesn’t make it go away.
It just makes it heavier.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

Talking won’t make things worse.
Opening up won’t make you weak.
Asking for help might be the thing that changes everything.

If any of this hit home, take one small step today.
Message someone you trust.
Start the conversation.

And if you don’t know where to start, we’re here.

The views and actions of toxic influencers are the polar opposite of why we started Men’s Minds Matter.

It’s easy to point fingers. It’s harder to ask why things are happening in the first place. Because the truth is…

A lot of young men aren’t finding support in the real world.

So they look for it it online.

And when the loudest voices are built on outrage, division and quick wins, that’s what they absorb.

But the danger isn’t just about the influencers.

It’s what happens when boys feel ignored, dismissed, or shamed for struggling.

If you’ve got someone in your life you’re concerned about, check in.
