We hope this year is off to a good start for you. And we would like to remind you of an interesting CPD event next month.
Few trainings in the so-called ‘talking therapies’ offer us a chance to develop our confidence in using creative media and methods in our work, such as music, painting or clay work, drama and movement. Particularly when our work is with adults, we may hesitate introducing such methods, fearing they might run away from what is ’normal’ therapy!
With this in mind, we at the Gestalt Centre Belfast are offering an exciting 2-day in person workshop on 8-9 February on that very subject.
We have invited a colleague and friend from London to deliver it: Jon Blend. His background includes 40 years working creatively in the NHS and in the community with adults, children and families. He trained with Violet Oaklander author of 'Windows to Our Children’, and is an approved trainer with the Violet Soloman Oaklander Foundation. He is a faculty member at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, London. He will be joined on day 2 by Roz Carroll, body psychotherapist and co-editor of the book ‘What is normal?’.
The plan is to use creative media and methods to focus on ‘stickiness’ in therapy - an experience we are all familiar with!
There are only a few places left on that workshop, and it will be first come first served.
