A week in Andalucia! We stayed in a small mountain village 30 mins outside of Ronda. A week of hikes and river swims and lots of local food. We ate lots of gazpacho, olives, padron peppers and some very hearty rice dishes plus delicious goats cheese salads. It was lovely to eat at family run restaurants which are only open certain days. The local vermouth went down well too!

Great first get together last week for our wellness network in Waltham Forest- a group dedicated to promoting wellbeing in the borough. It felt like we’d known each other for years!

So far acupuncturists, doulas, massage therapists, yoga and pilates teachers, osteopaths and psychotherapists have all joined our network. If you practice a wellness modality in the borough and would like to join, drop me a dm and come along to our next meeting.

Looking forward to what we can do together!

… there is a little secret weapon you could consider stashing away in your arsenal and that’s sage.

Yes, we’re talking about the humble herb – although it seems that it may not be quite so humble after all and, as well as being a very tasty addition to all sorts of yummy recipes, it can also potentially make your flushes more manageable.

If you’re navigating menopause or perimenopause, sage has been traditionally used to help ease hot flashes and night sweats. This gentle herb is thought to support hormonal balance and provide a cooling effect for the body.

🍵 Try sipping on sage tea or incorporating fresh leaves into your cooking as a simple, natural way to find relief.

🌟 How to Use It:
Sip on a refreshing sage tea.
Add fresh sage leaves to your meals.
Freezes well for later use

Have you used sage before? I’ve used it regularly for hot flashes and it’s also a wonder for a sore throat!

As your body transitions during perimenopause, managing inflammation becomes key to feeling your best. Fresh vegetables are nature’s powerhouse of anti-inflammatory nutrients, offering a world of benefits. 🥗✨

🔑 Why Anti-Inflammatory Nutrients Matter:
During perimenopause, hormonal changes can lead to:
➡️ Increased inflammation.
➡️ Joint discomfort.
➡️ Hot flashes and fatigue.

🌱 Top Veggies to Add to Your Plate:
1️⃣ Leafy Greens (Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard):
🌟 Packed with magnesium to ease muscle cramps and vitamin K for bone health.
2️⃣ Broccoli & Cauliflower:
🛡 Rich in sulforaphane, a compound that fights oxidative stress and supports hormonal balance.
3️⃣ Bell Peppers:
🌈 High in vitamin C to boost skin health and combat inflammation.
4️⃣ Sweet Potatoes:
🍠 Loaded with beta-carotene to support healthy skin and immunity.
5️⃣ Garlic & Onions:
💪 Natural anti-inflammatory allies with heart-protective properties.

✨ Benefits for Perimenopause:
✅ Reduces joint pain.
✅ Supports hormonal balance.
✅ Boosts energy and mood.
✅ Enhances skin glow from within.

🌸 Pro Tip:
Pair your veggies with healthy fats (like olive oil or avocado) to absorb those fat-soluble nutrients even better! 🥑

Fuel your body with vibrant veggies and let their natural power help you thrive. 💚

Nutritional Therapy is at the forefront of modern complementary health, supporting common complaints such as digestive issues relating to IBS and hormone-related symptoms. Nutritional Therapy provides a strategy in the management of these problematic conditions looking first for the root cause rather than just treating the symptom. It’s an incredibly exciting field to work in and I’m delighted to be able to offer nutritional therapy my local community and beyond through online appointments. If you would like to find out more about how Nutritional Therapy could help you, please get in touch to arrange a free call on charlotte@wearenutrition.co.uk
