As we observe Skin Cancer Awareness Month, our focus at Icon Cancer Centre London is to highlight the path to understand skin cancer and to encourage proactive health management. Our commitment remains to provide compassionate and advanced treatment options.

Here’s what our expert has to say about the latest advancements in skin cancer:

Dr James Wilson, Clinical Oncologist:
"It’s essential that people with skin cancer have access to specialists who can provide the full range of available treatments. By clearly outlining the advantages and disadvantages of each option, we can empower patients to make informed decisions about the treatment that best suits them.”

At Icon Cancer Centre London, we believe in empowering our patients with knowledge and access to the latest treatments. Remember, early detection saves lives. Speak to your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.

This is about people, not just plans.

We recently visited AMT Headingley Stadium to share early plans for a new cancer centre in Leeds, designed to help bring care closer to home for local patients and families.

For many people, cancer treatment means travelling long distances. This proposal aims to make things easier, with more care available right here in the community.

We’re looking forward to continuing conversations with local partners and hearing from the community as plans develop.

Happy International Nurses Day. Today we are celebrating the incredible nurses across our wider Icon Group family, and our amazing UK nursing team at Icon Cancer Centre London, pictured here.

Across our network, 475 nurses support patients with skill, compassion and dedication. This year’s theme 'Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives', reminds us how vital their work is.

To all our nurses: thank you for everything you do for our patients, families and community.

During May, Icon Cancer Centre London and Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital want to shine a spotlight on skin cancer because conversations can save lives.

Skin cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the UK, with more than 18,000 people being diagnosed every year with melanoma.

We want to help raise awareness and encourage everyone to look after their skin, to know the signs and risk factors, and to feel empowered to speak openly about concerns. Early detection makes a life-changing difference.

We are pleased to share an upcoming event that may be of interest to our community. One of our former patients Lucy Pattullo has gone on to train and work as a cancer rehabilitation specialist and is launching a service to support others after a cancer diagnosis. As part of this, she is hosting a free event in collaboration with APPI Physiotherapy and Pilates clinics and fellow expert Cristina Malgarotto:

👉 Thrive After Cancer, 15 May, 1pm, APPI Clinics Wimbledon, SW19 4NB

This supportive session will focus on how to move safely after cancer, alongside an opportunity to meet others and make new connections.

The event also marks the launch of a new weekly Pilates class for people living with and beyond cancer, designed to help rebuild strength and wellbeing.

If you or someone you know might benefit, sign up via the Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/thrive-after-cancer-a-practical-guide-to-exerise-to-support-your-recovery-tickets-1987494365148?aff=erellivmlt
