Tea, Scones & Great Conversations ☕🍓

Today and tomorrow, we’re welcoming our amazing carers into the office for a little treat — tea, scones, and some good company 🫖💬

It’s our way of staying connected, sharing any concerns, checking in on how everyone’s doing, and simply having a good catch-up. Because at My Homecare, we believe strong relationships make stronger care.

When Dementia Enters the Picture

A dementia diagnosis can feel like the ground shifts beneath you.

For the person newly diagnosed, it may start with moments of confusion, forgotten names, or difficulty expressing thoughts. Deep down, they may know something is changing — and it’s frightening. The loss of control, the fear of being a burden, and the silence that can follow is often heavier than words can say.

For families, it’s the beginning of a new chapter they never asked for.
You’re suddenly learning medical terms you never wanted to know.
You’re juggling doctor appointments, rising costs, work, kids — all while trying to be strong for someone you love.

💸 And then comes the money worry.
Can we afford care?
How long can we manage at home?
Will we need help… and who can we trust?

The stress builds quietly — and it’s often held in private.

If you’re in the early days of this journey, please know you are not alone. Support is out there — gentle, practical, and compassionate help that meets you where you are.

💚At My Homecare, we walk beside families facing dementia every day — with care that honours dignity, calms the chaos, and helps life carry on with warmth and grace.

You’re doing better than you think. And we’re here when you need us.

☀️ Hot Days Can Be Harder on the Vulnerable ☀️
At My Homecare, we’re reminding everyone to check in on the elderly, isolated, or vulnerable people in your lives—especially during these warmer days.

🚨 Why it matters:
– Older adults and those with health conditions are more at risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration.
– Many live alone and may not realise they’re overheating until it becomes serious.
– Something as simple as a phone call, a cold drink, or a quick visit can make all the difference.

💙 Small acts of care go a long way. Let’s look out for each other—because community care is the heart of what we do.

💚A Heartwarming Surprise 💚

Today, we were touched by a beautiful random act of kindness — someone left a hand-knitted figure on our doorstep, just because. 🧶💐

To the anonymous giver: thank you for the smile, the warmth, and the reminder that kindness is alive and well. Small gestures like this mean the world, especially in the work we do every day at My Homecare.

Let’s keep the kindness going — you never know who needs a little joy today! 🌈✨
