Jivamukti Yoga is a dynamic and intellectually stimulating practice that integrates physical asana, hands-on adjustments, pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Sanskrit chanting, yogic philosophy, and deep relaxation. Classes are ever-evolving, with music playing an integral role in creating an immersive experience.

In this special masterclass, we will focus on building a strong and steady foundation for all standing postures. From Mountain Pose (Tadasana) to Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana), and from Warrior Poses (Virabhadrasana) into Forward Bending (Uttanasana), we will cultivate a deeper connection to the earth—becoming more grounded and stable in our practice and in our daily lives.

🔥 About Durga Devi 🔥

Durga Devi (Denise) was given her name by her beloved teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life. A former dancer and competitive gymnast, she was first introduced to yoga in 1994. While the physical practice felt natural, it was the chanting, philosophy, and ancient teachings that truly resonated with her.

As one of the original teachers at the London Jivamukti Yoga Centre, Durga is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti teacher with extensive experience. She taught at the New York Jivamukti Centre from 2002 before moving to the UK to help establish the London studio. Her kirtan training with Jai Uttal and Bhagavan Das has deeply influenced her teaching, with chanting remaining a key element in her classes.

Community Beginner’s Yoga Class Every Thursday at 5 pm.

Join us for a free, gentle, and welcoming community yoga class, perfect for beginners and open to all. Led by the wonderful Sandra, a dedicated practitioner with decades of experience, this class provides a supportive space to explore Hatha Yoga—a practice that combines simple asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation).

Sandra began her yoga journey at the Bihar School of Yoga and has been sharing her knowledge through voluntary teaching at a women’s centre in Kentish Town.

While the class is free, it is optional to donate. All donations will go to ❤️

Welcome to YogaBase, Zo!

Meet Zo, the newest addition to our Camden crew! He brings 4Beat Yoga, a dynamic vinyasa practice where breath syncs to the steady rhythm of music, creating a fluid, meditative flow. Inspired by Rocket Yoga, this class builds focus, strength, and connection through movement.

Zo also teaches Yin, offering a slower, deeper practice to balance it all out.

As we step into this new year together, let us pause to honor the spirit that connects us all—within, around, and beyond. The cosmos itself reminds us of the infinite possibilities each moment holds when we choose to be present and open-hearted.

This year, we are especially grateful to deepen our roots in Camden. Through new community partnerships, we’ll be extending our support to some of the most vulnerable members of our neighborhood. It’s a privilege to be part of such meaningful work, and we look forward to walking this path with you.

Start your Sunday morning with an invigorating 90-minute session that combines movement and meditation. This class begins with a dynamic 60-minute power flow, inspired by Ashtanga yoga, focusing on breath and movement to cultivate strength and flexibility. It’s an energising practice that not only engages the body but also prepares the mind for the meditative state to follow. After this powerful flow, we transition into a 30-minute sound bath meditation. Using the resonant tones of the gong, this meditation is designed to quiet the mind and lead you into a deep state of relaxation and inner peace. The vibrations of the gong can help release mental distractions, allowing you to experience a profound sense of stillness and clarity. Asana and Meditation In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, yoga asana is stated to prepare the body and mind for meditation. The physical postures help release tension and restless energy, making it easier to sit comfortably and focus inward. By uniting breath, movement, and mental focus, asana lays the groundwork for deeper meditative practices, helping you arrive at a state of inner peace and awareness. Note You can choose to leave the class after the asana practice or stay and enjoy a deep relaxation.

Hello, Happy Friday everyone! I’m Hayley, the studio owner of YogaBase and I would love to hear from you!

As a growing young independent studio (not even a year old!) we are always looking for new ways to continue building this community. 🤍✨

Our mission is to make YogaBase a place where you feel safe and held - a welcoming place where you feel like you are “home” and a retreat from the “hustle” culture of the city.
A place you can make new connections with like minded people and develop your practice.

Over the next few weeks, I would like to offer up my ears to hear about your personal experiences and feedback (about anything at all) so we at YogaBase, as a team, can work on our mission to make this a safe, inclusive and inviting space for all!

We’ll cover modified and accessible versions of classical poses like Shoulder Stand and Headstand.
