If you want to lose weight (fat)...

DO

Ever heard of Thermic Effect of Food (TEF)?

Whatever we eat our body needs to use energy in order to digest it

This is what Thermic Effect of Food is - and each Marco uses different amounts of energy to be digested

Protein use ~20-30%
Carbohydrates use ~5-10%
Fat use ~0-5%

Using this logic you'd think it would be best to eat protein over any other macronutrient

But what is not discussed much is the most efficient way to absorb the protein is pairing it with carbohydrates (insulin plays an important role in transporting amino acids into your muscles)

So in short, eat protein and don't cut out carbohydrates 😁

Shout-out to my wife for taking me to for my birthday and cooking an incredible Friday night meal ❤️

Consistency is key when it comes to your diet. Same ingredients, different recipes - it's a game-changer for staying on track. I focus on progress, not perfection. Monitoring my body fat percentage helps me stay in check. Keep nutrition simple, see real results

Stop the rocking!

How often do you see people ego lifting and they rock their body?

This is because the weight is too heavy for their biceps to lift the weight (if we are talking about bicep curls), so the body generates momentum to give the weight a moment of weightlessness to help lift (similar to Olympic lifters as they clean a weight onto their shoulders)

Nothing wrong with this, but if you are trying to build your biceps you won't be building the strength throughout the full range of movement (as an osteopath I'm big on full ranges of movement)

Little hack I've been doing with clients who can't seem to stop rocking - set up the bar to mid back height and the goal is to not let your back lose contact with the bar

Now watch those biceps grow 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
