Measles
There is lots of talk, and fearmongering, in the news lately about the measles, one of the more unpleasant childhood illnesses. Fortunately homeopathy has been treating the measles successfully for over 200 years and with common remedies available in even the smaller kits.
The usual early symptoms are a fever followed by cold-like symptoms, runny nose, sore throat, sore eyes, and spots on the inside of the mouth called Koplik's spots, a confirmatory symptom of the measles, which last a few days, followed by the characteristic rash.
Remember, childhood illnesses rarely pose a problem where there is good sanitation and nutrition (vitamins A and C in the case of measles), however there are a few things to be aware of with measles in particular:
🌿 Allow your child all the rest and sleep they want to aid recovery
🌿 Keep well hydrated
🌿 Keep sun/light exposure to a mininum, closing curtains and dimming the light on devices, especially if eyes are sore
Remedies can be given frequently at first and less often as symptoms improve, but don't carry on with a remedy if there are no signs of improvement.
Seek help if a baby under a year contracts measles, or if any symptoms such as a cough, earache and headache are painful and persistent and not responding to home prescribing.
