We were delighted to welcome Kim O’Connor, Senior Lecturer in Practice Learning from the School of Health, Sports and Bioscience. It was Kim’s first time visiting Nightingale House and she was inspired by the many positive experiences our student nurses have shared from their clinical placements here.

During her visit, we explored our ongoing partnership and the invaluable learning opportunities Nightingale House provides.

Kim was impressed by the high level of support we offer our students and shared her excitement for the “Nightingale House model” being shared across other care homes in South London.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Our Story

Nightingale House is a 200 bedded Jewish residential care home in South West London and Hammerson House, now closed for a major redevelopment, will be our 116 bedded home in North West London when it reopens in 2020/21.. Our Homes offer residential, nursing, dementia and respite care on a beautiful sites. We offer "care for life" and an exciting and diverse activities programme, together with a wide range of services and facilities including an in-house medical service, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy and more. Nightingale House is home to the first nursery on a care home site in the UK. Apples & Honey Nightingale. Both Homes have ambitious and extensive rebuilding and refurbishment programmes. The Charity receives no support from either central or local government in respect of any such capital projects. We are therefore largely dependent on the generosity of our friends in the community to fund capital works and also to help bridge the gap between monies received from local authorities and the true cost of running the Homes. The Charity is facing the ongoing challenge of caring for a client group who are increasingly frail and with very high care needs. Both Nightingale House and Hammerson House welcome residents from across the Jewish community, whether coming from London or further afield.
