Life is relationships. The relationship we have with our bodies, our environment, the people around us…This has been a very special one indeed for me with . We have met 10 years ago and have been working together on the Pilates ever since. I also consider Lucy as my friend who is certainly one of the kindest people I know. Keep your spine healthy with the Spiral Stabilization method. 🤸🏼‍♀️

Similarly to the Pilates method, spiral stabilisation exercises are meant to rebalance muscles, create traction and decompression in the joints and strengthen the whole body. All you need is a special exercise cord and a trained practitioner to help you learn the technique. I find this type of gait training especially useful for those with scoliosis, bulging discs or spondylitis. Many of my clients have managed to avoid surgery and drugs by practicing these exercises once or twice a day for 10-20 minutes.

Did you know if you maintain the mobility and strength in your foot 🦶 you also contribute to keeping your other joints healthy?

I use Yamuna Body Rolling for stress management 🌞

My clients love this brilliant technique which compliments their Pilates practice very well but it can also stand on it’s own. We use various balls to reset bones and free up space in the joints to allow optimum range of motion. It’s a safe alternative for resistance training to maintain flexibility, strength and bone health. Feels like a deep tissue massage. It’s time for a proper introduction. 🤗

I am Judit, the owner of Pilates Reloaded studio in London SW15, Putney. I was born with hip dysplasia. When I was a baby, I was treated by having my legs bound together for months. The binding treatment did help, but it left my hips weak. That was only the beginning of an unpleasant journey. Aged 14 I was diagnosed with scoliosis. Aged 16 I started experiencing severe leg pain. At the time, I was playing in a band and Ballroom Dancing in Hungary. Normal teenage stuff, but I felt different from my friends because I was constantly trying to beat the pain. I wasn’t able to sit or stand for long, which made studying much harder. My body felt like a cage.

The doctors thought it was just muscle spasms so they gave me strong painkillers. Finally, after repeated visits to the hospital, they noticed bulging discs. I had nine months of physiotherapy and was okay for a time. Then when I was 20 the pain came back. I couldn’t accept that I would have to live like this forever. I knew there had to be something other than physiotherapy that could help. That’s when I discovered Pilates. I came across Spiral Stabilization and Yamuna Body Rolling later on when I moved to London.

These techniques have changed my life. I used to think I was a victim, having to exercise every day. Now I realise that’s just how the body works. It needs maintenance.

With physiotherapy it took me almost a year to deal with my pain. Now when I have a flare up it takes two weeks. Despite the issues I was born with, I’ve been able to teach, train 4-5 times a week and dance competitively for over 10 years. I used to suffer constant pain. Now I have the power to help myself. It was a long journey for me, but it needn’t be for you. With my guidance, these techniques can help you live your life to the full.

Do you Yamuna?

I came across Yamuna Body Rolling many years ago. I instantly loved this amazing technique and decided to go to New York to learn from the creator Yamuna Zake herself. Since then I have been using it together with the Pilates technique to help my clients as well as myself reset body alignment, free up muscle tension and recover from injuries and pregnancy faster. It’s a safe alternative for resistance training to maintain flexibility, strength and bone health even during menopause. Yamuna body rolling is done by various specially designed balls using your own body weight to stimulate bones and regain space in the joints. Allowing your body to reset this way your organs will function better, you will breathe better, stand up taller, preventing more serious illneses to take hold. The best thing about it is that you can work on yourself anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home. It feels like a deep tissue massage.

The Pilates technique is not about doing repetitive exercise. It doesn’t separate your muscles and body parts. Neither it does the mat work separately from the reformer. The Pilates method is a complete whole body exercise system that incorporates all the apparatus and its repertoire to help you rediscover how to move with power and ease from your centre.

It requires all the colours of the palette 🎨 to paint the whole picture.
