Here’s when you should seek immediate medical attention ⬇️

1️⃣ Heavy, persistent nosebleed
👉 Try this first: Sit down, lean forward slightly, and firmly pinch the soft part of your nose for at least 15 minutes. Breathe through your mouth. This helps drain blood forward rather than into your throat.

2️⃣ Difficulty breathing through your nose or a blocked sensation.

3️⃣ A crooked or misshapen appearance of the nose, or visible cuts on the skin.

4️⃣ Clear, watery fluid leaking from your nose — this could suggest a deeper injury.

🧊 For immediate relief: Take paracetamol for pain and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

👉 Next steps:
See a doctor as soon as possible for a full assessment. Your nasal septum (the central divider inside your nose) must also be checked, and in some cases, imaging like an X-ray or CT scan may be required to rule out other facial fractures.

💬 Not all nose injuries require surgery.
In many cases, if there’s no significant misalignment, surgical treatment isn’t needed. However, a follow-up with a nose specialist within 1–2 weeks is crucial to determine if further intervention is necessary.
